It’s ok I will crop the mustang out of the picture for next year on our 30th anniversary and reveal- at that time my 1986 shirtless upper body. You all have probably seen bigger arms on chickens!
I've always wondered why the Mus----s were not allowed. Basically a rebodied Falcon and they are all over here. Can somebody give the reason why?
I sometimes think I pissed someone off and now have a secret admirer that follows me around and reports my posts.
I've seen more than a few pictures of Bill Lawton, Gas Ronda, Dick Brannan, Bob Tasca, and a few more in their A/FX Mustangs on here. In my opinion they were a very important part of mid-60's drag racing.
Easy, it's Ryan's site, he created it and makes the rules, many of us own off topic cars but we know not to post them here, there are other sites geared to Mustangs, VW's and muscle cars. HRP In the past some threads were given a pass even though they were marginally off topic but a few years ago Ryan and the moderators started clamping down on them, I have seen a lot of older threads brought back to the top that were off topic and be deleted after 5 to 10 years. HRP
If you guys post yer wife's put their pictures under "trophy wife " they will probably slip right thru.. My favorite line: "got any naked pictures of yer wife? F.D. rookie: No! Me: wanna buy some?
I wouldn’t want to come on here and have it full of muscle car pictures - or anything but traditional hot rods. The moderators do a good job of holding the line. I would imagine there is a ton of stuff they take down -you really don’t ever see. And that is what keeps the site so good.
I just looked at the new members introduction section and we now have 1164679 registered members, taking in consideration possibly 1/4 of them participate and the moderators cab ve counted on ten fingers they can't stay on top of everything. This is the best hot rod and custom car site on the internet and it has a lot to do with how it is designed and moderated. HRP
Also what is a hot rod-ask 10 people get 10 different answers. What’s a muscle car - ask 10 people get 10 different answers. Some cars even seem like they are both! Then go to cruise night and all of them hang out together. My point is it’s not easy to perfectly separate it all. But the H.A.M.B. does a excellent job keeping it traditional and as HOTRODPRIMER points out it is the best traditional site on the internet!
Yes, agreed, the HAMB is a great site/forum. I enjoy it immensely. That said, a few of you guys posting on this thread might want to take hankie and wipe that little fleck of brown off the tip of your noses....
Well,,,,I will be honest. Several years ago I had just found and traded for a little Desoto Hemi. Never had any ideas about how to look for anything for it. A search engine offered this site,,,The HAMB,,,And I was hooked! I visited religiously for many months,,,then computer issues and work schedules knocked me out of it for some time. I am back know and really glad to be,,,I missed the information. There is a lot of knowledge here,,,,and I have just seen a little of it. I knew a lot before,,,but it was all late model and 60’s muscle car stuff. I usually feel dumb now about most of this stuff,,,,,some of you guys amaze me,,,if the part is not available,,,you just make it,,,,,what Talent!!! As far as the rules go,,,and the moderators. I always remember the line from the old Kenny Rogers movie,,the Gambler. The train conductor said,,,,,”Mr. Stowbridge owns the railroad,,,,” Ryan owns this and he created it,,,that means he makes the rules. I think that is probably why it is as popular as it is! Why argue with Success!!! Tommy
This is a great site and have enjoyed it here.. Just shocked me that a post got deleted for a wheel adapter and how FUGLY it was on a old skool hot rod. No need to dwell on it though time to move on.... Let Njoy what is here now and more to come...
For those that may be concerned that this thread gets closed........just wait a bit, another one is sure to follow.
