This is strictly a non scientific survey and all of your answers should be based on either emotion or technical knowledge or some third adulteration of thinking....
I have accumulated two complete 1960 F100s along with some extra parts and plan to combine the two to make a nice retromod driver.
The question at hand is, one is equipped with the stock 292 and a three on the tree, the other has a 1971 351 C4 combination. Which one would you use and why?

  2. I have a 351 Cleveland in my '50 Ford coupe. HRP

  3. 292 is a great engine and looks cool but can’t compete with a 351.
Just depends on the look ya want.
The 292 is a little more expensive especially for speed parts.
All that being said I would use the 292. I could care less about going fast.

I'd use the y block and tranny in a different project...say, something much older;)

I would use the one thats already in the truck that I was gonna use if they are both equally good.
However that might be the lazy hack way without putting too much thought or effort into it:D
Wouldnt mind seeing pics of your trucks if ya got any:)

351/C4, better for hauling and easier to locate parts.

How about keeping the three on the tree, with the 351 in front of it?

I would use whichever on is in the best condition, and if they are equal, I would go with the 351/C4, because it will haul more.... ass :) I like faster, myself, but would save myself some work if one is in better shape than the other.
