Projects You can't Making Chicken salad out of Chicken Sh!t

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by HOTRODPRIMER, Sep 14, 2019.

  1. I've heard the old adage my entire life and taken literally it's true but when the analogy is applied to some of the builds h ere on the Hamb there is no doubt that it is entirely possible, figuratively!

There have been so many build threads where talented hands have designed and built what others would have left where it was found.

Giving this thread some thought I originally wanted to give credit to those gentlemen that always seem to pull off the amazing builds, they don't post a lot but when they start with less than perfect sheet metal and with their own special ways of thinking outside the box.

I know it sounds trite, but their actions speak stronger than words,I decided not to do so for fear of overlooking someone that should receive the acknowledgement.

I would appreciate you guys giving props to the men who constantly "Make Chicken salad outta chicken sh!t." HRP

The shop foreman in the first automotive machine shop I worked would use that term when a customer wanted you to do magic on their pile of $#/t parts.
    Heard it pretty regularly.

Thats what I love about Jonathan W.
Everything he works on is chicken crap. He never gets excited and shows you how to move chicken crap up to lipstick on a pig.
Then it is up to the next guy to make it nice.

    Just sayin

  11. You are right, HRP, there are some threads where guys have performed the impossible bashing on old tin that would otherwise have ended up getting crushed for scrap.

  19. There is a saying my German friends use. Es ist uns wieder gelungen aus Scheiss Bratkartoffeln zu machen. Which means, once again we have successfully made fried potatoes from shit. There’s been a lot of fried potatoes made by HAMBers.

Tip 'o the hat to the Wizzard (two z's because he can build cars in his sleep better then the rest of can in our waking hours) or @Pist-n-Broke to the rest of you hoodlums. Working with the Wiz reminds me of how much I have left to learn in this hobby. When he offers his help on your threads, F'n pay attention!
