Graystoke, I don't think he succeeded in heating his cabin...but he sure kept a lot of trash out of the local
landfill. Today's color junk mail doesn't burn the same.

I too bought my first Master Tool Kit from them. It was in 1969 as I remember. Most of the tools were Husky brand. I don't exactly recall but it was something like a 245 piece tool kit. It was all SAE back then. I laughed the too box counted as a piece...I still use that good metal box, but the 50 count utility knife blades along with the 30 count hack saw blades went a long way towards the final tool count...good starter tool kit and I still use most of the tools, well that haven't been lost.

I bought an exhaust system from them for my first car in 1970 including a no-name glass pack. When I had to go before the judge for excessive noise( just a crossover pipe, nothing behind the firewall) I showed him the order form copy and said I have parts on order, just waiting for delivery and to install. "why didn't you buy local?"(Detroit area)
Your Honor, I'm just a high school kid and can't afford local prices! He said "Can you can keep from appearing before me til you are 18?" Yes sir, "case dismissed"

Later bought VW brake parts and quick steering/ short throw shifter conversion in early '70's

Like all you guys, read their catalogs for years and dreamed

My favorite was the LP record player you plugged into the lighter socket. Good way to scratch your records, can’t imagine it worked unless you were ‘parking’ with your girl friend !!
Some of you might not remember LP records......

You might be right about that, it was too long ago to remember if it was LP or 45’s

I use to order from them in the '90's. Most of their VW stuff was great, German-made parts.

Remember when the back of the catalog had stickers/labels for discounts?

Not sure why, but I would peel them off and place them everywhere.

My old man would get furious when we went to order and the coupon was missing. and he'd find them slapped onto my portable tool box.

I rebuilt a SBC, parts & tools from JCW, ran good for years. Also bought the hood for my avatar from them. P1000335.JPG
