I just got this home. 38 coupe, 283 with a 39 trans. No rust they anywhere. From what I can tell it has original paint. It was finished with interior and drivetrain in 62. I have a log that he kept from 62 thru 73 with miles and and it is currently at 28k! I am thinking that it's original miles on the car. It has been parked since 1991 till this month. From what I can tell it was in Kansas City to Dallas / Ft Worth to Sunnyvale CA till I got it and brought it to Salt Lake City. Unfortunately the owner has Dementia and can't give proper history and his kids could care less. It is missing the seat back, radiator and fan. The rest is as found. I have only had time to clean the inside so far. Going to refresh the 283 and get it back on the road. If anyone has leads on a seat please let me know. I would love one that lands forward, possibly a split bench. 20190909_134355.jpeg 20190909_134535.jpeg 20190909_134523.jpeg 20190909_134337.jpeg 20190909_125356.jpeg 20190909_123958.jpeg 20190909_123914.jpeg 20190909_134451.jpeg 20190909_123812.jpeg 20190908_183616.jpeg IMG_20190906_011302_828.jpeg IMG_20190906_011302_852.jpeg IMG_20190906_011302_838.jpeg

When the car was pulled out of the garage, the kids had already started cleaning stuff up and throwing stuff away.. Including the seat, and radiator. Bummer!

    Great looking project.
Glad you got it before the kids decided to throw that away.
Look at Ryan’s 38 for inspiration.

I think you should be able to find the seat back springs at one of the aftermarket early v8 parts dealers. The original seat would match the rest of the car.

The seat back would not be that difficult to simply make.

Nice score, Congrats from your neighbor to the North! Hope you will keep on posting with your progress, my uncle had a '38 deluxe like that way back when (albeit with a modified flathead). He traded it in on a new '50 Ford right before he went to Korea.
