tape has been opened and used to fix an electrical problem at my house. the old knob&tube was getting hot and causing the rafters to start smoking, and everyone one knows that when the smoke comes out you've got problems.
found out I had more problems. smoke came out and now my rafters are no good. contractor said I need new ones. he can get sealed beams so the smoke stays in.
