    HAMB PERIOD HOTRODS/CUSTOMS

This Thread celebrates 'The Art' that was a Concept or Part of Your Ride's legacy.

Historic examples that are not your own are fine too...

There are many opinions about Art and the History of What we celebrate here...
but whether you have positive or negative views on The Look Inspiring Art
it is a force and a reality...

Many Builders are actually Artists that don't require a Canvas as the Object being created is the Canvas but Others get the paper and pencils out...

Even if the Builder doesn't have a Conceptual Artwork for creation the Ride may Inspire some along the way...

So basically what I am asking is to See Your Ride or a Friends and or Historic Examples of which there are many...and share them here...

Only rules are keep it on topic and keep the File Sizes Reasonable as stuff over 1MB bogs the thread...

and one other Big thing Please Give the Artist Credit for their Visualizations

    All Mediums Welcome...;)

...an artwork of my Coupe by a talented Hamber @edcodesign...Many thanks and praise for that...;)...and I certainly expect many of you have had Ed's gift of Greatness...I know I've seen many on the Art Shows...:)

My dad was a teenager in Sacramento and saw George Barris' custom 1936 Ford Cabriolet and it left a big impression on him. He moved to Iowa in the 50s and in 1957 he started building his own version of the car that had such an effect on him.

So it seems here and I mentioned that some build with a canvas in their mind however in your Dads case either a real time visual encounter or photo in a magazine was his canvas...He certainly captured much of what George had created back in the day...and yeah I'm sure he is quite happy with it, as it's a Beauty

He saw the car up close and personal when George drove it in the Sacramento area. He also remembers seeing some of Harry Westergard's cars being driven.

Those Shops did churn out many Iconic Classics so inspiration was absolutely understandable...

@36cab One Detail I noted that your dad didn't follow suite on is the Big Pipes and the Tunneled Plate he did out the back that I associate with newer trends however pics like this illustrate otherwise and I usually refer to these signs of individuals as way ahead of their time...Do you know what year this was by chance?...

We have many Hotrod Artists here and Hamber @weez is one of them and I suspect quite a number of Hotrod/Customs have be inspired by his Vintage Visions that never get Old...The Builder of this Vision 'The Emerald Tide' is Hamber @Jimmy Hervatin

His 36 has a tunneled rear plate. He also removed the running boards and bobbed the bottom of the fenders. He did add lake pipes which Barris did not do on his car. He lived in Sacramento through most of the 1940s and came to Iowa in 49 or 50. 100_4481.JPG

Cloning a Vehicle or an Inspired Rendition of, is something that ruffles feathers to some but it's really a compliment to the Original Builders and heck if it warms your heart that's awesome...there really are no rules but one would hope that the visionary creators get a complimentary mention...and I am pretty sure your dad holds that original inspiration close to his heart.

Hamber @Littleman's Deaths Doorstep has been illustrated many times with renderings by Hamber's @Jeff Norwell, @GaryC. and @Vonzemo...to name and present a few...

@Littleman's DDS threads are numerous but heavily plagued with redx syndrome and I actually had a bit of a time finding a thread to link. It's a real shame as he has a lot to offer and pics matter...

Thats really cool provenance @Moriarity thats exactly what this thread is about, the Art that is Prior, During, or After the Creation of the existing vehicle. It could be a Gift, Commission, Ones Own Art...Its quite an Honor to have our vehicles recognized for their visual impact by any Artist...Each work gives out a Heartfelt Vibe.

@jimmy six's dads Hotrod circa 1938 based on a 1929 Ford he quite uniquely styled and had fun with...the story below based on a conversation some time ago...

Jimmy's Dad had an aviation background but Jimmy claims it didn't reflect an aviation theme however I feel his fit and finish was reflective of a precise disciplined mindset often a characteristic in aviation workers...

    The Story below...
