You got a great story, and Poncho! Like I was told about mine, this has turned into a heirloom and your Father in law, would be amazed at how you are finishing it. Nice Work!

 

Wow, has it really been 5 months since the last update? Time flies. A lot of boring stuff done that isn't really update worthy happened through December/January. Brake and fuel lines plumbed, the rest of the wiring done, my OT trans attendant "stuff" installed, etc. But, it's nearly ready for it's initial fire up. Yay!! So here's a few shots. My PCV line for the hidden(ish) PCV, and the hard line is visible for the vacuum advance to the distributor in the 2nd pic.

 

The coil bracket I made to use existing screw holes for the heater valve. View attachment 3190117

 

Plug wires ran, and a discovery of sorts made during their assembly. WD40 isn't much good as a penetrant, but it is the ginchiest for cleaning the schmutz off of rubber hose and, duh, plug wires.

 

Heater plumbed, although the one to the water pump has changed position since this shot. Radiator tank polished, and, nearing a complete engine compartment.

 

Maybe a silly thing to mention, but I tend to use what I have lying around. This wiring clip was an interior roof molding clip for a 60's hardtop Mopar, aluminum, so it polished up nice.

 

lights, camera, and....no action. The night before my planned fire up/cam break-in session, it decided to hemorrhage coolant out the intake. So, apart it comes. I've nearly got it buttoned back up, hopefully noisy video soon.

 

I cant understand how i missed this one.

Nice thread on the Canadian 57 Pontiacs.......I had 1 of 682 1957 Pontiac Sedan Deliverys.......apparently it was imported from Montana in the late 1990's, most who saw it had no idea what it was, I contacted POCI and after being assured that they did make them in Canada I purchased it........was able to get all the body rubbers & suspension parts quite easily as they are all Chev, even the cracked front windscreen was available here in Oz as while we only had 1957 Chev 4 dr sedans sold here the S/D windscreen was identical.........the car came with the 261 & 3 speed but I intended to install 292 six........ended up selling it before really starting it and this pic is all I have............Andy Douglas

 

Thanks fellas. No start up video, although the cam is broken in, but the bit of video I got when we did it is lousy. I do have video of it running on my shoe phone, I just have to figure out how to get on here. I have some updates to do as well when I get a bit of time.

 

Just found your thread. Great Car! I ran a 261 inline 6 in my truck the first time I built it, now I've got a 327 Chevy out of a Canadian Pontiac that I hope to get rebuilt one day.

Coming. A computer melt down has trapped a ton of pictures, and I haven't had time to recover them. Plus a divorce, and a move. It is my ex's car, as it was her dad's. That said, it's here at my house. Had a head gasket issue, that I have to finish buttoning up. Then I'll drive it a bit to make sure everything is sorted before turning it over to the ex.

 

So sorry to hear you going to lose it. Maybe you can make a deal with the ex....give her a daily driver or something so you can keep the Pontiac.
