Anyone know what this is ? All steel, no plastic. Brass gear drive like a speedo that drives a short axle on each side. Two aluminium lube points for the axle. No markings at all. Hope it,s not from a washing machine .
I agree, its NOT a Gizmo!.......looks more like a damned "doo-lollie" off of a early Shivel-lay! Probably don't need it to make it run. 6sally6
I got nothing.............but then again, it may be a "felchermabob", wait, that's a whole nuther subject.
im guessing a small industrial or agricultural conveyor drive A motor with a worm gear bolts to the open front then a sprocket or pulley bolts to each side shaft
Are the two silver things filled with grease? If so, they get turned in once in a while to lube the shafts.
It'd make a good quick change for one of those mini vehicles old guys ride around on at swap meets. 'Bout time someone built one that has a motor out front with a shaft running all the way to the back.
Guessing same, but more along the line of a "universal worm drive" for small industrial use. Something that Dalton Gear might have made years ago. Typically, only one side shaft needed to be used for mounting a sprocket; depending on direction. The grease cups would indicate it was manufactured prior to self lubricating Oilite type bushings. @34 GAZ, what is PWC ?
PWC is www.prewarcar.com Euro site where all the brass-era car guys snoop around for a bargain . Lots of those cars for sale there.
It is part of what's called a gearmotor. There would be a motor with a worm drive bolted to the end of the gearbox, similar to the one in the below link. https://www.industrialmotors.com/ba...MIgta_oP7G5AIVx0XVCh2V9AoDEAQYAiABEgK4K_D_BwE
That used to be one of my Dads favorite jokes. I tried to use it here a few times...... just sits there. Kinda like yours did........ so I thought I would help the joke out. I guess it’s just too old........or we are! Lol Bones
