I hear Library Cops never give up! And they have moved to Social Media It would be best to send me the book so I can keep further away from them. Great Illustrations, you can feel the energy of what was trying to be said, even without the book to read..
The cat is seriously focused on imminent death and splintered fencing. The one that really caught my eye was the gull wing. No doubt the door was blown off by the Deuce roadster that had just passed him.
Incredible Artist...unquestionably not all fun and games this racing was... The toll on the racers must have made it a near bloodsport... Interesting much of the works are focusing on the more hellish moments. He handled them with grace however and left the aftermath unknown. Drive on Speed Racer...it's not over till the checkered flag has been waved... Thanks for sharing these...heck all I had in school was Mr. Whiskers...
Wow. Incredible artwork. And the subject matter... I can't help but imagine Mr. Demand's talent gracing Felsen's stories. Would have been a powerful pairing. Sent from my VS835 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
this art is beyond fabulous. He captures the dark side of racing without it seeming to be a look away piece. I had been seeing USAC and IMCA sprint car racing since the early 1950's and can relate to a car going thru a fence with the driver flying out of the cockpit. Wonderful action art!!
I think I read that book when I was in Junior High a long time ago. Well maybe I just looked at the pictures. What a great artist!
I hear "Take on me" in the background - crap, now I have that stupid song in my head - great art though!
Wow! Really captures the action. The incredible work with the faces and expressions add the intensity and emotion to the action. Truly amazing work.
I love the guy in the back with the freakin hammer. WTF You have to love this stuff. It depicts the era perfectly.
