    Gents,
I have a 54 belair that is currently Bermuda green with a excellent fade on the metallic. I have a tight budget right now and want to make the car two tone, green and white are everywhere... clean, but done.
I like the idea of surf green on the roof and side spears, I also want more of that kustom look. I don’t want to make a miss step and add flake that ends up needless.
I have poor photoshop skills but here is an attempt.
One with B pillars and one without.
    Help greatly appreciated!

Hello. Neat car. With the dark green pillar at first thought was a factory look but either works .

Love those colors! I'm using the same OEM bermuda and surf greens on my 54' 2100 too. I like the surf green b-pillar.

Match the pillars to the roof. It's a handsome car, please, no skirts.
    Here's a '54 I saw in Lafayette, Indiana:

The dark green is metallic, do you think that adding a micro flake or larger to the surf green will be too much?
I am collecting parts right now: 350 4 bolt main, 700r4, 69 Camaro 10 bolt rear end, Walton Fab is sending his manual brake firewall kit, mounts for v8 and trans, and kit for rear end. Have disc brake conversion, 23” Lokar shifter, new 18 gallon tank.
Looking at set of dolphin gauges any feedback?

I've had a set in my 54 for about six years and have not had any problems. And they are accurate.

What did you use to surround the gauges in the cluster?

The gauges came with an aluminum insert for the original bezel.

I had a 54 back in the day, treated it to a mild custom treatment painted all green. Did not like two tone.

Baby Moons look good - take off the bumper guards for a smoother look.

That’s this weekends plan, will 0000 steel-wool work for brightening the stainless and chrome?

SOS pads for the chrome. They wont help the stainless unless there is a layer of scunge built up on it. Polishing compound for the stainless.

I don't know if you care about "stock" but they came from the factory with the dark green in metallic and the light seafoam had no metallic at all. (Original colors on my '53 210 and a '54 Pontiac I used to have)

I'd leave the pillars the body color,if you paint them to match the roof it become a "T" and cuts the car in half making the car look short and squatty .The trick with 53.54's is to make them look longer and lower ,imo. Cool car.

I dig the green metallic, not looking to change that. I wanted to hear if adding metal flake to the Surf green would mess the look up and that seems to be the general consensus.
Atomickustom, thanks for the info on the chrome/stainless!
Dan31, never looked at it that way... makes sense.

don't use SOS pads on chrome , use AJAX or BO NAMEE
    scratches the bumper, hastening rust..

Chrome is like clear, brightens the Nickel under it

I need to try this sometime, I have always used SOS pads with great results, but someone in every thread will say SOS pads will scratch the chrome??? I have never witnessed SOS pads making a rusty part look worse or even saw where its made scratches....maybe I cant see good, I dont know???

You asked opinions. I'd never put modern gauges in an old car. They almost always look out of place and one of the coolest things about an old car is the gauges. I also like the B pillars body colored but the two tone looks great.

I think a set of 15x6 reverse dish cragars would look good with current paint.

  30. I like the pillars body color.

I have had Dolphin gauges for 15 years in an OT Cutlass. They have worked well for me. I have the 4 in one, speedometer and tachometer.
