20161005_172140_resized.jpg '64 Mercury comet station wagon. I've owned the car for 6 years and gotten a lot of enjoyment out of it. With a project truck, a fixer upper house, etc., it's time for someone else to enjoy it.

Located and for sale in Harford County Maryland. About 40 miles northeast of Baltimore city.

This has been a great reliable family cruiser that is always the only one at the car show. I see falcons on occasion but I never see another mercury comet.

    CASH ONLY OFFERS

    Clear title in my name.

Believed to be original miles (90Kish) and all original components except described below.

straight 6- 200 ci engine, 2 speed merco-matic trans(auto), manual steering(easier than I expected), manual drum brakes(firm pedal but stops great).

Body: Immaculate for the age and east coast car. Come see this car, that's why I bought it. Original lines/seams all match, original pinch welds on the doors.Very nice "20 footer" cruiser due to being an actual driver car has scratches and chips but little to no rust. A dent in the hood and on the roof because of a tree branch, easy paintless dent repair fix.

Previous owner- repainted the car(descent). Did all new brake components all the way around.

    Since I've owned it:

    Engine (200ci):

new starter, new alternator conversion, new 2bl(rebuilt weber spreadbore) conversion, new fuel pump, all new electronic ignition system conversion(based on '79 fairmont), new tstat, new exhaust manifold gasket and bolts. Valves adjusted. Replaced transmission tail shaft seal.

Front Suspension (1k miles ago): new front shocks, new ball joints, new upper control arm bushings, new lower control arms and bushings, new sway bar bushings, new strut bar bushings

Stereo: new dual voice speaker in the dash, new amp unit in the glove box with IPOD/Phone style input connection. I listen via Android phone.

Tires- New Coker Wide Whites. Need to be cleaned but you'll see they maybe have 500 miles on them and they're not cheap.

    exhaust: magnaflow muffler

Needs attention: front bench seat split cover, rear diff gasket has a slow drip, engine valve cover gasket leaking (broken bolt off in front), noticed today front driver side wheel cylinder may be going as the car is pulling driver and isn't stopping as fast.

Replacement Transmission- I have a c4 3 speed auto with the hard to find high mounted starter bell housing from a '65 mustang that comes with the car. Condition unknown but great core for rebuild to get that extra gear.

Fitted all weather car cover included.

    CASH ONLY OFFERS PLEASE

    Thanks,

    Jon
