I'm bringing this photo out of the morgue to show the doubters that car photos
work as art. This is not my shot, it was posted by swade41 and with his okay
I wanted to give it the matted and framed look that helps make it pop. I cleaned
up a few oil spots but left the cracks in the concrete to give the pic age and character.
Swade did what too many don't, he eliminated distractions, making us focus on the
    matter at hand.

  3. @quick85 , ya get no arguments from me. Photography is art.

Nothing new from me at the moment... so I jazzed up this old sketch...

    Hello,

Last week, So Cal local, long time drag racer, Robert “Bones” Balogh was nominated for the 2020 International Drag Racing Hall of Fame. His accomplishments are for the record books and stems from the fact that his spectacular history got developed in the Gas Coupe and Sedan Classes. A long time racer/builder/record holder with Venolia Piston and Isky Cam connections is a well deserved nomination.

    upload_2019-9-6_3-50-26.png
His history is well documented and he was ever present at Lions Dragstrip in those early days of So Cal drag racing. His 671 supercharged SBC motor was the inspiration for our 292 SBC build for our own 1940 Willys Coupe. Ours qualified for the C/Gas class in the final months.

One of his early forays after his success with the 49 Chevy sedan was a “purplish” 1958 Corvette, also running the 671 SBC motor. To us, this was the nicest Corvettes that we had seen at the drags. The set up was one that many people followed in later versions of building and racing Corvettes. Since it was in a street class, it certainly would have made an impact at the Bixby Knolls drive-in restaurant parking lot hangouts!!!

This drag racing Corvette was in a long line of racing cars with the familiar side logo from J&J Mufffler in Inglewood, Calif. (back then it was abbreviated as Calif. Not CA as is is now. ) Congratulations for an award well deserved.

@Cyclone Kevin is a big fan of The Iconic 34's of Pete and Jake's Hotrod Shop...I think it's pretty safe to say Most Hot Rodders are...anyways Kevin has a Thread evolving on the History of the evolution of and all the iterations of them over the years and had some visions of what if things had evolved in another direction...

I had fun with it...and I give Credit to all the Influencer's for this Creation and the others in His Thread well worth a visit...

  14. I wanted to say thanks to everyone, for some great F.A.S.'s. I'll add a couple Junkyard oldies. I used a pen, and my grandaughter's water colors. Ron... 2423.jpg 2421.jpg

  16. I made this Friday Night Cruise Night panel for friend who puts an incredible amount of work into a Friday cruise so we have a place to hang out and enjoy ourselves. Just a way to say Thank You! Shoot me a PM if you would like something made.

Not sure if this is art but I was just trying to get a cool harvest sunset photo and saw my neighbour coming down the road... I sort of like how it turned out.[IMG]

And A fantastic job on it I must say, you conveyed all aspects of the different periods in time of the 34’s continued existence . You my friend are the talent that makes peoples dreams come true ;).
My “What If?” Idea involved the Trucks as thats what “Jitney Jake” gained fame with initially.
IMHO Stogy did a stellar job on the images.
    Thank you again :).

IMHO, a chrome or stainless frame would be tastier.

Thanks all for throwing some Art in my eye!

    Hey Ya Artsies...

    It's Fri the Why Day...;)
    Post your Hotrod/Custom/Race
    Inspired Masterpieces...

The Highly Modified recent acquisition of @flynstone's was the subject of this digital inspiration with this version having the original setting of the pic still intact but with some tidy up on the surroundings...

Have an Artfully Grand Weekend, thanks for the support, appreciation, comradery and thoughts go out to all affected by the Nasty Lady called Dorian...
