Projects Seagrave 531 V12 Special BuiLd Up in Brazil

Hi to all.
Some time ago I bought a very neglected V12 Seagrave engine from a friend an started a nonsense Hot Rod Project.
I will share here the job with pictures and some words too.
Please all of you guys feel free to post any kind of crítics, suggestions and other ideas.

Wow! Such a beautiful engine. That's worth building a hot rod around...

 

After a short trip to get the engine with the original transmission, I put the whole package in the ground if my shop.
And try to imagine what to do next...

The engine turned over freely when we tried.
But it reserved some surprises for us after opened!

The brakes, axles and rear differential are surprisingly complete and in good shape.
So we started to dismantle and clean everything to start to make the engine/chassis marriage.

I'm onboard, should be an interesting build and definitely what you wouldn't normally see.

After the chassis rails was cleaned, we cut some thick steel sheets and made internal reinforcements inside the rails.
The 6 cylinder original engine was a little boy compared to the 531 Seagrave V12.
Additionally, we moved the engine some 14 inches to the rear, to get a more balanced car.
Above we can se the final position of the bell house.

What are the plans for the rest of the body?

Boy, I don't know about the ignition systems. I had a '48 Seagrave pumper with one of those that had ignition problems. Luckily for me, the points were the problem. After a lot of lookin' and comparin', I found that '46-'48 Chevrolet points fit. I was lucky that the caps and rotors were good, because I believe they are made of unobtainium. Yours don't look very good. Good luck with it.

and really neat.
For some reason, I like the LARGE early race cars like the one you show. I'd like to have one and drive it.

Seagraves are quite rare, even here in the USA. But if you search enough, you might still be able to find some parts. I wonder if 6 cylinder distributors could be adapted. Show us how it's done!
