Mine came today, just in time for my birthday. Thanks TRJ! BUT......please go back and print DO NOT BEND on the envelope! If it's not on there, the USPS will never fail to do so! Fortunately, magazine survived.
Checked the mail box a few minutes ago, low & behold my TRJ made it to South Carolina on 8/31, time peruse cover to cover. HRP
......In the past, the mail person brought mine and placed it by my front door. Not this time! Folded it up like a pretzel and stuffed it in my regulation sized mailbox!
Went to the store and picked one up. It's much cheaper than by subscription in Canada. Must be because of those shipping rates.
Really enjoyed the Curt Iseli written story about the 312 powered '32 5-window unearthed from a garage in Richmond, Va. that unfortunately never got completed, but the trail of receipts, many from Strick's Automotive in Washington D.C., left a clear history of where this build was going. Great story and a fun, historical read. I love these kinds of stories. Thanks to Curt, Steve Coonan and Doug Walker for bringing us this hot rodding history lesson and of course the original builder, Bill Kane, Sr. for his passion and vision.................................Don.
Thanks man. It was a really neat story to work on. It always blows my mind when a time capsule like that is unearthed. Glad y’all are digging the issue.
@drdave Lol! I was talking to Dr Dave yesterday about missing the "Where is my Rodder's Journal?" thread. We use to be able to track the subscription deliveries all over the country. It was like watching them report on a storm. Thanks for posting it. Oh I almost forgot, I got mine yesterday...
Got mine today, saving it for this evenings entertainment. Do wish they'd put DO NOT BEND on the envelope as mine was bent in half even though I have a larger mailbox?
Well, since I started this I need to report that mine has been received. We can put this away for a few weeks. Issue 83 won't be ready for mailing for a while. Thanks everyone and thanks TRJ! Phil
Funny...when Mick and I were talking I hadn't gotten mine yet. Got home last night and found it on the bar underneath some other papers. I have no idea how long it's been there, so maybe I already had it, maybe I didn't. Haha
Hehe - that's where I usually find my past-due bills too... My TRJ #82 came yesterday, not folded but carefully placed by my front door. And like you all said it was worth the wait. Went out and mowed my lawn, then instead of heading to the garage I sat down with a beverage and read. Worth it! Well done!
Still not here in Mississippi !! I guess the Pony Express needs to get some more horses to help deliver the mail here. Oh well IT IS always worth it when it does arrive. Later Bill
