Here's what I have, somebody welded metal in over rust and used a lot of putty. The lower panel was crooked ,

The Desoto looks to be just like it

  5. yup, looks like it, mine's missing the rumble lid, I'd convert mine to a trunklid if I ever get to it.

I have an inner trunk structure made of fiberglass for a full size trunk lid

Since you have the inner panel, I suggest you check Home depot. They sell 4x8 fiberglass sheets that are sort of smooth on the backside with a pebbles texture on the "good" side. Used this stuff on my teardrop trailer. You could bond this to your inner panel. It bent good enough for my trailer but if you want a bit of a crown to your panel going the other direction too, it won't work.

I may go that route, I'd like to try and get a crown in it . The inner structure has crown built into it already.

  13. ...if you have the inner skin and it looks like it'd fit, you just need to make an outer and bond it to your inner..(.Google 32 Plymouth rumble seat coupe for pics)

If you have nothing I would suggest starting with a set of reproduction 32 ford hinges.

I changed my rumble to a deck lid. We just moved. If I can find the hinges, I'll take some pictures.
