    Hello,

This 1940 Ford Sedan had the appropriate look of one that we saw driving around So Cal's Bixby Knolls back in those 1960-65 hot rod days. For those that are period correct fanatics, this is one that is right on the money. Why? Simple, clean, stock, low cost and plentiful, on a lot of 1940-50 hot rods.

When I got my Flathead powered 1940 Ford Sedan Delivery as my first real cash purchase, I spent days looking for a nice sample of hot rod style. I wanted chrome wheels, then my tastes went to the "newish" mag wheels. But, money was the deciding factor. No money, no fancy wheels, so the look was black rims, and a small chrome hubcap. Finally, chromed beauty trim rings were added to give the custom look to my sedan delivery. Now, there were three 1940 Fords cruising around Bixby Knolls. (A Flathead, Buick and Chevy powered)

Sometimes, the small hubcap and thin, beauty, trim rings just looks the best for that clean look.

The black 40 sedan’s interior looked as if it came right off of the showroom floor.

My first sedan delivery had a floor shifter that was included on the LaSalle transmission. It was part of the original way I saw the orange sedan delivery. It actually had a 348 Chevy motor and LaSalle transmission as the power and driveline. The cost was too great, so the previous owner took out the 348 and installed a Flathead motor attached to the LaSalle. Then, offered it to me at a greatly reduced price that I could not pass up.

Tons of fun, miles of cruising road trips and a big plus for the teenage ego.

Bought this 40 in Feb. and just last month I finally received the proper paperwork to legally drive the car. The time wasn't all lost as I got a few seals changed and other little items fixed but now she is ready to run with the rest. DSCN3428.JPG
