Just saw a story about her passion for speed and passing on NBC national news.

I guess if you die reaching for the golden ring that's about as good as dying gets.

    R.I.P.

As a father who has also lost a daughter, (only 53), my heart bleeds deep sadness and sorrow to the maximum depths of human understanding for her beloved family.
I posted this morning on this tragic accident, but after seeing her mom and dad in 31 Vicky's video, I just had to comment about those grieving folks and ask that we all remember them in our prayers also.

Jessi was a true rolemodel for young women. Watching her on tv was the reason my daughter had such mechanical curiosity at an early age and became a very good mechanic. A true shining star, and a loss to all.
I saw this quote from Jessi on an earlier news feed, seemed to state it well:
"Jessi Combs@TheJessiCombs- It may seem a little crazy to walk directly into the line of fire... those who are willing, are those who achieve great things. .. People say I’m crazy. I say thank you ;)"

I don't know if Jessi ever visited the HAMB or even new about it, but I know she is the kind of person that would have been right at home here. RIP. :(

RIP Jessi. I just got off of The American Eagle facebook page and it states that there is already scams looking for money to be sent for the parents and other benefits. So don't be sending any money anywhere.
Our prayers go out to all of the family and crew members involved in this horrific accident. Godspeed Jessi

I’ve never met Jessi but her passing has like most shocked and saddened me. I’m a father of two girls, 12 and 13. I’ve seen Jessi on various shows over the years but mostly on All Girls Garage. I would tell my girls “Hey, All Girls Garage is on!” and sometimes they would watch it with with me to what I’m assuming was to placate Dad. I am always impressed by the skills of everyone on that show. The only thing I hoped over the years of them seeing just a bit of that show is that they too can do what interests them no matter the stereotypes. It’s unlikely my girls will have a passion for old cars like I do but I truly hope they pursue their passion like Jessi did. I can’t imagine losing my child and for her family and friends to lose her so young has to be extremely hard.

She was. She was dating my friend Nathaniel, for a bit. She would come out and launch model rockets with us, in the old railroad yard.

So much positive energy. Such a loss.

I heard this news early this morning...I texted a gal I work with who is a skilled welder - fabricator and said Jessie Combs died yesterday ...Her response was , you are joking with me right? I said no I am not. Her response was Fuck..My coworker would drive out to King of hammers just to watch her race. I always liked her for her real skills without the bullshit.

  17. Such sad news- RIP Jessi. You were just getting going- deepest sympathies to her family, friends and racing colleagues.

Just a bump to the top, this thread should be first in line and as a father of (3) girls, (2 still living) it needs to say there IMHO,
