No name on mine but "Money Pit" would fit according to the wife. Had a corvette we called cancer special got it after beating a little bout with cancer. Wife surprised me with it, knew I wanted it and bought it for me! Damn Good Woman if we make it to 35 years think I'll keep her. Course we been married 34 years. Only way she gets away is if one of us croaks! haha

My '66 Mustang is Naughty Nadine, '51 Ford sedan is Sultry Shaniqua, and my '41 Chevy is Lusty Loretta. The names have come about from comments at party's and get-together's, there is a story behind each one.

    I name my cars.

  4. I've been known to yell some very colorful names at other peoples cars when I'm on the road.
    Does that count?

I was looking for a running car that seats four when I found this pile. It was an opportunity to own an early ford, so I jumped on it. The minute I brought it home I knew I would have a road ahead of me and I needed to keep focused on the goal, so the "Dawn Treader" she became, and the name has been an incredibly accurate motif for my journey with her. 20190807_102249.jpeg

Of all the cars I've owned since 1958 I only named one. And of course it's the one I should have kept. IMG_3534.jpg

Shortly after my first Model A arrived, my wife commented, "that THING is leaving a trail of oil all down the driveway."
I recalled the story of Hansel and Gretel, commented on how we would always be able to find our way back home, and christened the car "Gretel". Our second old car (see avatar) of course is named Hansel.

    Peace

Yes,but not all of them. I name them if they deserve it ,an a few kind of name there self. Most all the cars at the indoor car shows in the 50s n 60s had names. I guess I started
doing it ,after my first car show in the mid 50s ,an pretty much was doing same anyway with my boats I had before that as well. To those the are flip about it an say no,I'm sad for you.

  18. Thinking back our twin girls named my '65 Ford pickup "Spot" when they were small. they were in the back of the truck and saw a primered area in the middle of the roof where a small Motorola antenna hole had ben filler, to this day we all still refer to that truck as spot. HRP

    Tks,
People either like it or hate it...
Two headlights are Harley, grille bar from '57 Chevy, and black mesh was laying around in my shop..
I also took two of the four tail lights out, and made flat lenses for them...
Here is a picture of the back...
Notice my car club plaque with the HAMB plaque on the top :)

Cars name goes on my plates and reflects what it was built for.

My Chevy C10 Paneltruck is called Smokey, since it is a Smokey Yunnick tribute car. image5.jpeg

Going to break in here with a story of my 3 year old daughter and a name she came up with. Her grandfather, my wife's dad, had a land yacht white, a 1972 Chrysler Town & Country 4-door wagon.
We, my wife, and girls, often went along to buy raw milk from the farmers down in the valley, usually taking my 57 chev. but this time we loaded in to the yacht. As we did so a greatly surprised and happy little girls voice came from the back seat..........."Oh boy we get to take "Super Pickle" .
