  2. The door fooled me. I see it is a glass body. I learned something tonight.

Dean, actually it is fiberglass. And the solid roof appears to have been added at some stage as the body appears to have been molded with an open top as per most Fiat race bodies.

Not to be a jerk, but you may want to say which "Pure Heaven" car is pictured in the future. This is Pure Heaven III, which was campaigned By Leon Fitzgerald alone. Pure Heaven II was Reed, Fitzgerald, and Rockman. Both different cars.

This Fiat was a Super Pro bracket car campaigned in the early-ish 80's out of Lynchburg, Virginia. I went to high school with the girl in the pic, who was married to the driver of the Fiat. The pic was actually taken at New London Dragstrip, just outside Lynchburg. Elk Creek has guardrails that come almost up to the racing surface, while New London also served as an airstrip, and had no guardrails at all, until late in it's history.

This is the car that gave Don Garlits the idea for his small dragster front tires..!

Since it is no longer a secret, Mikio Yoshioka has gathered parts and is in the process of having his "Stoned T" fuel altered recreated by the same craftsman that did Leroy Chaddertons " Magnificent 7" fuel altered.. As progress proceeds, I will post picture. 19702525_10154624533607703_4396058704176712960_n.jpg

Wow - that's beautiful. And to think it was built in the '50s. Not real crazy about the steering tho.

I wonder if that's a drop-top Crosley or owner fabbed? There couldn't have been many of those made.

    My guess...home made.

    1. The top (?) is chopped. The person doing the chop figured that he got in over his head as far as making the top fit properly to the sides of the top/body, and the back window. This was MUCH easier than a LOT of cutting and welding

    2. Notice the small area of "original" top just behind the windshield. It's just cut of clean, four or five inches back and not "finished".
