  1. 200 MPH tape! Don't take a race car to Bonneville without it!

I've seen that coupe with the riser from the front but never from the back...and am still surprised they allowed it but cardboard and many other types of materials found there way into aerodynamic alley mind you this was not aerodynamics really...it was height.

Maybe it wasn't the same coupe, perhaps many were involved in this Height issue...

It wasn't, My apologies, I was thinking of Lou Bingham's Coupe...mind you it was the same restriction overcome to satisfy a rule or was that to avoid being beat by the sleeker competitors?

Pretty wild street driven entry...I know alot were driven to the Flats but this thing is pretty radical...must of turned a few heads back in the day that's for sure...

Talk about restricted space...That's near claustrophobic...
That must take a little getting used to.

This tudor sedan looks fast......but the Plymouth(?) wagon is really wild! Chopped top and many other custom touches. Wonder where it is now?

  7. Here's a few more of the "Outcast" sedan and push wagon @RMR&C

Like Indy these are very polished examples of Hotrod Speed Art that easily could have graced a high end car show...just a treat for the eyes...

The build bar was very high for so many of the racers posted...

I still have a love for rough around the edges but these do also highly inspire and generate an awe factor Bigtime...

I love this thread, just goes to show that the Rolling Bones guys, whilst building killer cars arent really that far away from the early days for coupes on the salt. Im sure some folks think they invented that style :)

    Thanks for posting everyone!

...Not sure this was answered but I believe it to be Jim Woods so call Abbreviated Coupe...it may also have a connection to this Roadster below...

...apparently this may be the same vehicle with some swapping of body and engines...or so the story goes...this is quoted to be Jim Woods Roadster

I love this thread, I like to study all the cars in the background trying to see Ed’s car from back then.

I'd love to see more T coupes. I love this awkward looking coupe, equipped with a belly tank nose.

Can you say engine setback? This doesn't really fit the parameters of this thread, as I think it is a 53/54 Studebaker, but it's too cool not to share.
