This is the 11 inch disc Kit for a 37-48 steering and brake kit from speedway. What an I missing here? Seems to me this is the wrong arm to mount to the spindle. Pictures on line for the kit show these. They don’t mount up or is it me? Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
No those wont fit well, and they require the use of heim joints instead of tie rod ends. Get some steering arms from Pete and Jake's that bolt thru and use a tie rod end.
Often times with Kits you have to just think past the instructions and adjust what what it takes as you go. Flat washers, spacers, different hardware, even sometimes some heat or a little welding. It's seldom ever just stick it together and tighten things up. Nothing wrong with those arms. You can make them work. You could have bought the round forged arms but they often hit the Axle itself. It's a learn as you go process. There is several different style of arms out there.
Plus one on getting bolt through steering arms.The ones that go in to a blind hole could pull threads,or the bolt sheer inside,and you wont really know it.Bolt through use a grade 8 bolt,and nut,and you can see if everything at least looks tight.
The parts you have will work, just not exactly as you have them hung together. That's the history of Kits in general.
Need to use spacers with those arms when using that style caliper bracket; then you will find the tie rod is a little too long. Maybe take a look at how the tie rod location with the flat arms works out on your chassis before investing time in fitting spacers and stuff.

Are they meant to be in that position? Meaning, do have the left on the right and the right on the left to try and create a drop arm?

I have the same setup in my T coupe. A little bit of grinding on the back side of the tab on that arm and allow it to bolt up tight. As said before nothing for these hotrods is a bolt on.
You keep saying Kit as if everything came together. I don't see any of there Kits being complete with the new Spindle and the steering arm. You can buy them each listed for the same year vehicle but it is not a complete Kit designed to work as one unit. It may all ship in one box but it's not a Kit. There in is an issue and a back door for them to not make good on things just bolting up as a unit. Get used to it, they all do it. Just make things work together, be smart about it and move on.

You have your idea of right and he has his. Good enough for me. Narum5; For some reason going to Speedway web sight and searching for the part number in your photo of the add won't bring up any info. Maybe I'm key board challanged, however I don't doubt you got it as a kit. End result is it needs a little Tune up to all work together. How ya gonna deal with it? The issue you have is nothing new in this game.
Where are the 4 spacers that should have come with your kit? See last item of all that comes in a "kit". ^^^^^ Good find Johnny. Maybe the spacers were a later addition to the kit (or others had missed them) as there were several comments about the same arm/caliper brackets interference problem in the reviews of the kits.
^^^^^ Lets hope what I spotted indeed is that. Your photo show's a description, I couldn't find info on what's shown in what I found. For all I know they could be caliber bushing's. Note your part # differs.
