OK, sure... How many Drag week podium finishes? It seems you didn't have any problems until you got the Hemi. No correlation I'm sure. ;)

I took some stuff apart, and am slowly working on things. Took the engine out, trans out, pulled the heads, looking at the oil pump/dist drive gear, it's worn more than I like. The rest of it looks good inside, I don't think I'll bother taking things apart much more, although I'll probably pull a valve or two out and see how they look.

Got my new Joe Hunt Vertex mag in the mail today. "new" in quotes. Interesting.

I expect it will work ok...just kind of strange to see that after looking at the bill for it.

Surprising givin their reputation and as you said price but then again it's hard to get anything nice anymore no matter how much you spend.

  15. I could imagine it probably working like "new" but that sure looks flaky, doesn't it. Appears to have been more than just bench tested. Did that come direct from the manufacturer? :(

Looks like the base is a used unit....it's tach drive, which costs a bunch extra, and I suppose maybe there just aren't any new ones available?

  17. The tach drive base is cool. If you don't have a cable Jones instruments still makes them. To be era correct get the one that's covered in black plastic. The cable is the key to them working right. I have used many of those. Does your mag have a advance in it?

New, or re-new by them? Seems like there should be "more" to it, unless they really don't care much for their reputation.
But what do I know, I'm still stuck in the points era; except for my DD trucks. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

30 years ago I sent a perfectly good hunt mag to joe hunt to have the magnets checked out, came back with a hefty bill and the perfect cap was broke into a million pieces and put in a "baggie"................

Mine does too I tried using a locked out one in my car but it wouldn’t run when I could get it to start but then again my engine is 14:1 compression and naturally aspirated and is currently having a stack injector installed like it should have lol. Keep up the good work squirrel hope to see you soon

Finally started playing with it again....taking the engine all the way apart, I have to do a little bit of grinding in there to get the new milder lifters to get oil.
