Event Coverage Symco Weekender photo thread

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by 63Biscuit, Aug 11, 2019.

  1. Another bitchin' show out in Symco, WI this last year. All the work everyone puts into it continues to show, and somehow this just keeps getting better each year.

Full gallery with high res stuff here: https://pistnbroke.smugmug.com/2019-Symco-Weekender/, but a bunch of stuff below. Enjoy, and of course feel free to add your photos below if you went.

Did anybody get a good clean picture of the red '57 Chevy 2 door sedan that was on the main street? It won a trophy, was pulling out when I went to see it and couldn't get a pic. Really pretty car, mild custom.

Chopped 50 Chevy is pretty cool....

  8. Do you mean the one with the tube grille and the inset parking lights? If so, I think I got one when I was shooting film, but not positive...and it will be a week or so until I have those back from development. And I agree...it was pretty kool.

  9. I agree. I do wish it was painted though; the fenders and quarters have been in primer for a few years now...

I'm prospecting for The Retarded Sparks Car Club. We chose this car not only because it was a clean mild Kustom with just the right modifications, but because the owner was a great guy too. 36 years old and he already had owned the car for 20 years.

Here's a close up of the trophy we made

Awesome weather, awesome people, awesome cars! This is by far my favorite show and weekend of every summer. Thanks to those who host the show! Shout out to Frankie and Donny for showing us the inside of their Airstream! DSC_0696.JPG

Thanks for posting these pics HotRodRyan, they're the best shots of the car that I've seen. I didn't get to meet the owner, but he's 2 years younger than me and his '57 is about 10 years worth of work ahead of mine. I really liked it.

You won't see my chopped Chevy at Symco after it receives a permanent paint job. The grounds there are too dirty and dusty and that's why so few nicely finished cars return to the event.
