    Go karts got me interested in hot rods. In 6th grade (1967) I was crazy about go karts and the local grocery stores carried Rod and Custom magazine which often had feature articles on go karts. I remember pleading with my mom to buy me the go kart magazine. Of course, the karts were not the main focus of those magazines so they were my first exposure to hot rodding.

    That's my pic taken at the Nationals in Indy 1966. My mate Eddie in the pic. He's not real tall and the Plymouth was nearly taller than him.
