On August 17th 2019 our club lost a great friend Ron House of thunder road rodders cc Some may have known Ronnie as he made many trips to the midwest in his Mild Custom 50 Merc to attend the james dean run and the duck tail run. Ronnie lost his life to the big C and will sorely be missed. If anyone who new him have any stories or pic to share please do. Godspeed BigBuy RIP
My condolences to his family, the Thunder Road Rodders CC and his friends which I am sure there were many. HRP
Sorry to hear of your loss. I find as I get older I have to think of how great friends impact your life and have to be thankful even though some are gone now they were a part of your life.
I didn't know Ron, but when I read the original post from @engine138 the name sounded familiar. I thought I remembered seeing Ron interviewed on one of my Leadsled Spectacular videos so I had to take a look. Sometimes the things I remember can be downright scary! I started checking my VHS tapes and DVDs and I found what I was looking for. At the 1983 Leadsled Spectacular in Springfield, Ohio, one of Rowdie's gals interviewed Ron standing next to his super clean mild custom Mercury convertible that he called The 55 Rebel. He gave a quick rundown of the car and his love for customs and Mercurys ever since he first saw Rebel Without A Cause starring James Dean. He went on to say that he was going to help with the big sock hop they were having at the show later that night, and that he planned to be at every Leadsled Spectacular he could. Looks like Ron was involved in customs for quite sometime! I went ahead and snapped a few pictures from the 1983 Leadsled Spectacular video with the DVD paused of Ron, his car and the interviewer. I hope those of you that knew Ron will enjoy seeing them. I apologize for the poor picture quality. My deepest condolences to Ron's family, friends and all that knew him. Vaya con Dios, Mr. House..........E
