i have 2 bumpers for my 1955 t-bird that I need re-chromed. Do any of you know of a chrome plating shop in western iowa or eastern Nebraska? thanks for your help.
I don’t think there is one left. There used to be one in Omaha, and another in the western part of Nebraska I think in the ogallala area but I think both are closed
I think Industrial Plating in Omaha is still open. They did some chassis parts for a friend of mine not to long ago and did a nice job.
Try Sioux Plating 428 E 9th St, South Sioux City, NE 68776 (402) 494-2477 I have had plating done there several years ago. Very nice work then.
Keystone automotive stores.Dubuque and many other cities have them. Just google them. Great work and not as slow as most othe chrome shops.
A lot of people in this area send their bumpers to North Star Plating in Brainerd Minnesota. I've never heard a complaint from anyone who used their services!
AIH chrome in Dubuque,Ia. They do show chrome. Lifetime warranty on their work . Expensive, but well worth the money. 1-563-582-8235.
Was talking to a vendor that uses AIH the other day on some of the stuff they fab and sell and he's thinking of changing. Said the service was getting slower and the prices higher. I've been shopping for someone to do my windshield frame on my '32 and I'm getting long time quotes. Think I'll just wait until winter and start shopping again then. SPark
i called industrial plating in omaha, they do not do bumpers anymore. He told me to call bumper auto in omaha that still does bumpers.I called bumper auto, they will take the job, but send all the bumpers to North star plating in minnesota. $560.00 for each bumper, and $250 for each bumper bullet(1955 T-Bird has four of them). is sioux plating still in business? i heard they closed too. maybe just a rumor, I will call Monday and find out. thanks for al the help,Henry
Sounds not bad for pricing. I would expect to pay at least $1000 to plate a bumper these days. Sent from my SM-G950W using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Smittys Chrome plating in Lewellen is very much open too. Though sometimes they only do small parts, some days they say they can do bumpers. The past jobs I had done from them were good quality
i called sioux plating, got a message saying that phone is no longer in operation? are they out of business?
