Jim and the bird will kick off the event. Tweety vs the Mulder 29 roadster. These two may have raced against each other at Cadomills in the 1950’s. The bird is in the new Street Rodder Magazine also. Keep the vintage photos coming.

The narrator was describing the qualifications of the street Roadster class. Can anyone help us find that footage? That’s Jim dad Mel on the left side of the car. I had it on my phone but lost the site it was on.

A few passes with some Historic Rods made it a great day. Some 60 plus years since Jim took Tweety down a race track. There is nothing like the smell of burning rubber and high octane fuel.

Great story. That track has changed quite a bit since I raced there in 1969. Good to see that Skotz was out and about too.

  12. Working frantically to finish the car. We leave on the 8th for Bonneville. All the Rex Rod team will be driving their Hot Rods to the salt flats. Tweety on the trailer at the old Oak Hill School House. The school house was built in 1921 and closed in 1986. The races were postponed due to the rain last week. The weather forecast is hot and dry the rest of the week. Lots of racers and spectators from all over the world here. It would have made a great photo shoot for the bird on the salt. We are back on the road to Pebble Beach!!! And that Bonneville Sign sure looked bigger in 1954. Guess erosion wind really did a number on that sign

Well, there's always next year... I was planning to go to Bonneville this past weekend, but glad I didn't because of the postponement. Driving up there would have taken me 12 hours... Jim and Tweety, I'll see you next year!!

  21. We are in Pebble Beach California at last. 2247 miles in this trip so far. The Tweety Bird was awe full dusty. We’ve been detailing the car for the big days Saturday and Sunday Show. We took a ride to the Golf Course to see just where we will going Saturday morning.

Can't wait to hear your feelings and how it went on the lawn today. Not taking anything away from guys like Bruce Meyer who can afford to purchase some of the most important hot rods and give them the best and most faithful restorations and then show them to the world but your story is a notch higher!
