yep. the track was too big for the older stuff. even from the infield tower stands, you could only see so much and it took a long time for them to come around especially compared to the ghost or the modern indy cars.

they were great but if I had my choice it would have been this one.

 

if you notice in the back ground of the pictures, there were not a lot of fans in the bleaches. it was a really good event that nobody knew about.

 

That was exactly my thought. I would have tried to attend if I had known about it. Will they be doing this again in the future or was it a one time thing?

 

I am not sure. I heard rumors that indy was not coming back to Pocono next year. never thought about what happens the days before a race, and it is much cheaper to attend.

none of the old stuff crashed, it was a crash the next day, on lap one of the indy race. I think 8 cars were involved. which equates to about 8 million dollars.

I was once a big fan of Champ car racing, and I know the competition is still close, but I miss seeing my favorite sprint car pilots in the cockpit. This pre-race event looks like great fun, and it looks like some of those sprint car drivers attended also. Thanks again for posting the pics.
