  1. How about a msd mag? the control box has a place for a chip and they work. A 12 amp mag should work fine.

  2. Yeah I remember that morning. We're going back to that track in October - I hate the grass on the edge of the blacktop there. I need to stay with 392/354 based stuff because of the investment in heads and rockers and intakes etc.

Hmmmm never even looked into an MSD mag good point.

  3. i think you have exceeded the limits of your steel rods. I have a couple sets that have some unusual angles to them hanging on the wall. it took a few times but I learned. if you are determined to stay with steel rods I would invest in some higher quality replacements designed for your application. if your crank took a hit it the rods could be ordered with a chevy 2.20 rod size. the added benefit to that setup is cheaper bearings with more selection. the msd mag will need to use msd super conductor wires. it will also need ground wires running from the box to each head. good vibrations sells the fie kill switch. don't buy the cheap one they fall apart. get the higher quality unit the first time. these mags are so hot you might have to retard the timing a few degrees. they don't work with a buzz box. a timing light must be used. msd sells a good light that is very bright.

  4. Well seems that the crew chief found my folding money ......

In any case we seem to be ready for Saturday

Was a good low adrenaline weekend. With the msd set on 8k it ran like a bracket car 6 flat all the time. Didn’t break anything so now I’m bored. Got to work on the front ladder bar lowering- it won’t wheelie anymore even with the 4.86 gear. Nice 60 foot with those 1.28

  11. It’s 2668 lbs also and I’m allowed 2368

  12. Check this out Tim used an 8mm camera to shoot the race

Tony, the car looks great but I really liked how Q&D looked in earlier times.
I guess you'll be going through a lot more Mothers polish keeping those Halibrands up.

Tony, I dunno if it will work on magnesium like it does on aluminum, but I polished the American Racing wheels in aluminum that I mounted my slicks on for when I drag BGII, and then oiled them down with a couple applications of Gibbs oil. It does seem to retard the tarnishing a good bit.
Initially it has a very slight dulling effect on the shine, but it takes several months to even tarnish a little bit.

  17. Now we’re just playing

If you are running 6 flat what is the top car or cars running for times in your class.

  20. The 2 corvettes run 5.40 one of them did 131mph at the Alabama track. My car is 300 heavy which would make it a 5.70 car. Theoretically.
