Folks Of Interest Made it to 50 years of being married to this gal this morning.

Well it may or may not be a real hot rod event but Jean (the Former Jean Ann Sims of McGregor TX) said I do along with this former Fort Hood boy 50 years ago today and the adventure began.
Dating included a few street races in my 69 Cutlass S referred to as the Gray Ghost around Ft Hood at the time. She was pretty cute then in my green wool jacket that she took over.
Later after we had been married a few years she was known to sneak the T bucket out and cruise around town in it, running out of gas once and having one of the local cops haul her to a gas station to get gas and get if fired up and home.
Then it was kids and several road trips with them in the 48.
The plan is for more and longer road trips in the 48 and more adventures.
Probably no more getting the bottoms of her feet sunburned from sticking her feet out the window like she did on the way back to McGregor from Tulsa after the street rod nationals in 1973 where she also discovered red 40 Ford coupes. If you are the guy who owned the bright red 4 at Tulsa in 73 she was just crazy about that car and that is why she hung around it.

Congrats! I was the Best Man for two of my friends back in the early 80's and to this day they are both married to the same gals. I will be proud of them when they make 50 years, and I believe that they will. Sad but true, but it is rare these days to be able to work through life and make it with the same person that long. Good on you!

So....she was dumb enough to pick you and dumb enough to stay with you.....congrats man, I also got one to stay with me for the last 39 long miserable years....I probly woulda been in jail had I not met her, it was a good day. Hope you make 60.....

Congratulations! My wife and I celebrated 50 years on 2 August. We were driving a 1963 Plymouth Valiant Signet 200 when we got married, my Dad bought it new in '63. We have one just like it now except for the color. Thru the years the wife has gotten interested in cars, she has a 57 Nomad. No time to work on mine now. Lol.

Just a side note: Every girl I ever dated (not that there were that many) or was really interested in were divorced within a few years of marriage. I guess you and I are lucky we picked the right ones.

Congrats the longest I ever made it is 16 years and counting, to make 50 years I would have to live to be
100. My parents were at 64 yrs when Dad passed.

Congratulations! I mark 50 next Friday. First year I wasn't sure it would make one. Neither one of us would be the first to quit and I am glad because I wouldn't be where I am now without her. She takes good care of me and I try to keep up.
