Down this part of the world, pretty much if you want a sedan delivery, you have to chop something up and make your own one.

Only problem with that is that we cant find any factory ones to copy

    Door framing by Grub.jpg
I told my bodywork guy (the previous owner) that I wanted the rear door to follow the curve of the rear window, so this is early on in his fabrication.

And with the skin back on it, it doesnt look like a tombstone anymore. Hinges to the right as we drive on the left.

da34guy, thats pretty much what we are aiming for with our 34 Chev Sedan Delivery. It will be great if ours finishes up as nice as your one.

I know it's not trad But, what are you all doing to keep it cool in your Deliveries.

On these 90/100 degree days, it get damn hot even with the cowl vent open, both windows down
and vents turned in on my old ass even moving down the road.
    Thanks

Put an electric down window in back door,
( make sure exhaust exists out side )

I have a/c in my '37. The cowl vent works well unless it is pretty hot out. I find that having the door window down can cause exhaust fumes to come in the back door area so I tend to use the vent with the a/c fan or a/c.

I guess I should have bet.

The exhaust runs out at an angle in the rear fender, see pic - hard to see black pipe. Similar to how a lot of wagons were done. No problem for me, driven it like this for 30 years. Either I run it with the cowl vent open which pressurizes the air flow or with the a/c.

When I took out all the interior panels I was surprised how much gap there was between the wood floor and body corners. Evidently Chevy thought that sealing the interior corner panels would suffice. This delivery has all the original panels and wood. I made some filler pieces to seal it better. Deliveries were limited production models and I think they only did the basics to make them. Chevy put much more emphasis on the new 1/2 ton panel truck as far as literature and advertising.

I see the exhaust pipe, I also see a back bumper, which might be altering exhaust flow..
Can't knock it if you been that way 30 years, just don't let grand kids fall asleep while driving..
See If you follow my logic; >>> Your going down the road and "punching a hole in the air"
as you drive along you are creating a vacuum because of the large flat spot on the back of the vehicle. ( think NASCAR , when they are "drafting" so close to the car in front of them,)
when they begin to be "sucked" by the car in front of them, suddenly they have the ability to shoot around and pass..
Anyway I believe the turbulence create air circles that can enter the vehicle. (if door is not sealed)
Anybody can prove me wrong. this is only based on a hunch..

    BUT >> on different note:
For years I have cringed when I see giant tailpipe coming out BACK of school buses, right below escape rear door. worse yet is when they exist exhaust out passenger side where kids wait in line to get on bus, while bus idles..

Over the years, there have been a few "Sedan Delivery / Panel" only, get-togethers. Anyone know of anything like this going on anywhere in the US anymore?
