The world seems to be out of stock on .010 under Desoto 330 main bearings. The crank is ground and the rest of the engine is ready to start assembly but I can't get bearings. Hot heads, egge, Falcon, and the local guys can't get em. Anyone have any other suggestions?
My machinist is closed for the evening. I'll try to remember to call him in the morning to see where we got my rings and pistons for the 330 he bored for me recently. We went 40 over but the same place should have rings at .010, worth a try right? Shocked that Hot Heads was a blank.
This place is one of my honey holes. Don't tell any one, for your eyes only. Everyone else look away. https://www.crownclassicautoparts.com/home
They had them at the online store with a note to order at local store. One way to find out.Ive found they carry parts that others dont.It may be old stock they have been around forever.
Another source might be Haugens https://hagensautoparts.com/ They are only showing standard and .040 in their catalog though
I have to stand corrected on this one.Went back, and checked for a part number, and its not there.Sorry for a wild goose chase.
My bad, I didn't read it very well did I? Thanks for the catch and clarification. I will still make the call in the morning.
This might be a long shot, Robbins Auto Parts, Portsmouth, NH 03801. They have been around for ever, and never return stock back to the supplier. Over the last 5 years I have pulled many old engine components from there.
