Nope on the beers. 1 Bud light, 1 Coors light and 3 MGD's. That is almost beer abuse to leave that many!

Think about installing a rail along the outside edge then build a steel staircase WITH HANDRAIL that you could slide end to end to get things up there., think fancy library ladder. Bob

On the road in California with my daughter Hillary, she is doing the driving. We passed a car and I said it felt like a buck, she confirmed it we were at 116. Fun trip so far.....................................................Bob

If your last visit to Disneyland was in 1974 you will notice it is now larger. Got out of the car at nine in the morning, walked all day, back in the car at midnight after they closed both parks, 15 hours walking with brakes for standing on line for rides. Good conditioning for walking Hershey. Bob

  7. Solved a overheating problem on my O/T transportation. A little line that is meant to bleed air from the top of the rad, was plugged and preventing the air to escape to the expansion tank. This was causing overheating in stop and go traffic, and was driving me to distraction. I have been looking at the system to the point that I dream about it. After checking everything else multiple times I finally blew the line out on spec, and it worked, problem solved. Such a simple solution for such an aggravating problem.
I also got my rebuilt 800 cfm Qjet reinstalled on my 454, I am hoping to run it tomorrow. One less task to perform before putting my avatar back on the road. I have decided to change the front end back to the original 55 axle, so I still have lots to do. I will also be installing a 9 inch with an Eaton worm gear (Gleason-Torsen) centre section. The truck will be roadworthy after those repairs, and the rest of the work can happen while the truck is drivable.
Awfully tired, but a overall a good day.
PS: I also sold two o/t vehicles that are great cars, but I will never work on them. Someone is interested in my old plasma cutter, and I have sold another big block Chev engine. I am getting rid of the "extra" stuff that always keeps me from concentrating on my toy.

Well, since it’s a Ford, the Dyno guy didn’t have all the things to hook it up, had to make some stuff.... got one pull in 440 HP at 6200. Not bad for a flat top 351.

Going back tomorrow and try to get a few more ponies!

    ometime back I b
ought a 46 Merc with a "rebuilt" engine and new exhaust . First time I drove it, the right bank was smoking enough that the mosquito population in East Tennessee was almost wiped out. Tore the engine down, rebuilt it, right bank still smoking heavy. Pulled the engine and replaced it with another one. Right bank still smoking. Today I pulled the right side muffler and it seemed awful heavy. Pulled the left muffler and it was a lot lighter. Bought two new mufflers and each was 1 1/2 pounds lighter than the original right. Stood the original right muffler on end and about a pint of black cruddy oil came out. Probably the result of all the break in lube from the original build and the same thing from my rebuild. New mufflers fixed the smoke. Took me awhile and a lot of aggravation but I did find the problem.

Not to be a killjoy, I really like the idea but what keeps it from dropping if the hydraulics fail?

Spent the morning pulling the M/cylinder on the '41 and going to the parts store. Got back and started the install of the new one and, Surprise!!, it's the wrong one. My bad for not looking closer so went back and they had to order the right one.
Spent the afternoon pulling caliper pins, de-glazing the rotors with Scotch-Brite on the die grinder and sanding the pads.

  21. Same thing that keeps it from dropping if it were still on a forklift instead of the wall And the hydraulics fail guess.

  22. Yep and yep

  23. Tightened up 2 slightly loose hose clamps. Then re-routed hard line from pump to carb, cleaned contacts in distributor cap, and tightened up the alternator belt. Hope that's it for now.

So, I was having consistency problems running my 57 Chevy. Got in a runt. Brought out my O/T car I raced a few years ago and won tonight's Gamblers race at Island Dragway. SWEET.

Went to the HAMB drags and watched it rain and Pmd Guy Mike run his Wagon, after the track dried out the second time!
Also went to Joplin and hung out at The Host Hotel La Quinta
