I built this car around 2005. The plan always was to paint it. But, at the time it was looking really good on the frame, and fun to drive, so I put it together and drove it in red oxide primer. I always thought of painting it an oxblood/burgundy. For years I said “I’m painting it this year”. Then I never did. Fast forward to a few months ago, my 4 yr old son suggested he would like to see it black, and to “just do it”. The wheels turned in my mind and I thought black would be pretty rad actually. So, 14 years later she’s painted black. A few photos are attached including the boy helping install some seat belts to hold his car seat, and how it currently sits-black. The kid knows his stuff. I have weakness for nailheads. Super good looking car. Take your automotive advisor out for an ice cream cone in his newly painted A.
Thank you! I feel the same about nailheads. Conveniently enough, we painted it just in time for a larger car show/festival nearby complete with much ice cream. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Looking good, shiny black is much better than red oxide primer. Love the Nailhead, what trans are you running? I'm doing a tri-powered Nailhead with T-5 trans in a 32-5 window. BTW hope you don't live on a dirt road.
Looks really good! Finally decided to keep mine with full fenders, then I see yours. I can see another one in my future...haha! You should be proud of that sweet ride...

Looks great! You got to enjoy it in primer for its first chapter in your life (You could always paint it) Now, I cant see how your future expectations of what it could have been could be any better now Best of both worlds, Congrats!
WoW, that came out Great! What's next on his list? Looks like he's not afraid to help and he works for ice cream.
Close to dirt...it’s already driving me nuts wiping the dust off Trans is a 53 truck (F1) toploader with open drive. Rear is a 49/50 ford unit. I do have a T5 that I’ve been contemplating using. Years ago a friend gave me a bellhousing from a manual trans nailhead... Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Keep em! I sold mine when I brought her home. Kind of wish I had kept them. Always said if I build another one it’ll have fenders. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
