Can't go by that grill shell, but from the visor and the front suspension it looks to me like a late 20's or early 30's Chevrolet. Probably a 1930
The first clue that it is an Essex is the lack of external door hinges. Essex automobiles had piano hinge style door hinges. Oaklands, Nashes, and Dodges did not. The second clue is the unusual shape of the windshield frame, which is Essex. Next, the belt line trim and the raised reveal around the window on the door. Finally the shape of the rear quarter. Here is a picture of a stock one to help make the comparison.
Again, I have no clue as to a definitive make but two things that haven't been mentioned that reeeeely stand out for me are the grille shell which I've never seen before, and as to that hideous aluminum diamond plate firewall cover....................have people no taste!
How difficult would it be to take this stock Essex grille and add a center strip to make it look like the one in the OP. I'd say not very difficult at all. Look at the overall shape, the lip around the edge, obviously a '31 Essex grille that has been somewhat modified.
@Streaker here on the HAMB owns the '31 Hudson I posted a picture of in post #18. Here is a photo showing the grille a little better. This is my last post on this thread. I'm out.
