Passenger side filler panel went real smooth.

    IMG_4414.JPG IMG_4415.JPG IMG_4416.JPG IMG_4417.JPG
Had to make a mount that attach to the body so I had a point to mount the filler panels.
Bent up a piece of sheet metal for a mount
    IMG_4418.JPG
Shrink and stretch to get it to contour the body line
    IMG_4419.JPG IMG_4421.JPG IMG_4422.JPG
    IMG_4423.JPG
Drilled holes for rosette welds to attach it to the body IMG_4425.JPG
Drilled and Cleco’ed the filler to it.
    IMG_4426.JPG
Now to make the mount for the drivers side and the two top filler pieces that will be removable.

    Coming along

I put a wheel on mine, last night I ordered sprockets and chain to go with this garage door motor I have. Going to try and motorize it. Your work is amazing, metal work is over the top.

Finished up the fuel tank bulkhead over the week
Added some flanges to rest my removable corner covers.
    IMG_4448.JPG
This piece will attach to the top of front filler panel. It will be a rest for the corner cover also.
    IMG_4449.JPG
    IMG_4450.JPG
Start of the layout on the two corner covers
    IMG_4466.JPG
    IMG_4467.JPG
This is the pass finished panel.
    IMG_4468.JPG
    Drivers side is mirror image.

Created a new cover for the fuel filler
I'll finish trim and weld it to the top once it's time
    IMG_4469.JPG
    IMG_4471.JPG

I needed to lower the grill shell and radiator to get the look and rake I needed for the hood. When I build one.

So out come the cutoff and I sectioned the front cross member.
    IMG_4493.JPG
Templates and cut some fillers for both sides.
    IMG_4494.JPG
    IMG_4495.JPG
    IMG_4496.JPG
    IMG_4497.JPG
3/4" lower now. Also helps with lower radiator hose alignment to water pumps.

    2 for 1 kinda deal.
Now I need to cut up my grill shell again unfortunately.
Win some ya lose some I guess... that's tomorrow project.

Get out and build something !!

    good stuff...
did you have to section the front crossmember because the aluminum radiator's lower tank is rectangular not a series of angles like the stocker... ?...
are the radiator's lower mounts located in the same spot as the stocker's... ? …

Yes to your first question of the shape of the radiator.

I've never even seen a stock 28/29 radiator. So I have to assume the mounts are, They lined up on the crossmember just fine.

Sectioned and remounted the grill shell ... that 3/4” in the crossmember was the perfect amount

    Temporary hood looks spot on.

Reporting live from Maynard Elks Club!
MikeL50 was seen at a local swap buying parts for his : coupe, roadster, or sedan ? Pick one.
I was talking to his friend Sean, topic was “ Why do we buy this stuff?” Answer was “Because it’s neat to look at!” I guess he has a point......

Picked up a few goodies ... Sedan is on hold at the moment. Wasn’t really the plan but I’m neck deep in the coupe at the moment.
Making some changes before it’s time to enjoy it for the summer. Once it’s out of the shop, I’ll resume work on the sedan.

    Enjoy fellas [IMG]

    This is my inspiration [IMG]

Glad to see this moving along. Haven't checked this board in a while. Mine has been in storage while I work on my dads 52 Chevy truck. Almost done and I can get back to my Tudor.
