If memory serves, that Streamliner went 412 last year.

I'll be there, my daily driver is my '31 coupe. We camp in the gravel lot across from the truck stop.

Good luck to everyone. Last year was my last year of racing. I am going to spend the rest of my life with my family.

  12. The Gods must hate me....I thought I had everything ready to go, was going to leave today. Tuesday I noticed the master cylinder was leaking on my coupe. None in stock locally, have to order.....be here Thursday AM. OK, that only sets me back a couple hours.
Went to pick up the new master this morning.....one of the mounting ears is busted off the casting! Must have been dropped somewhere along the line. Have to order another.....be here Monday.
    That's not going to work.
SOOOOOOOO, new plan. I'll be taking my OT '79 F250 pulling the teardrop. Sucks to not be taking a hotrod, but shit happens I guess. I'm not missing Speedweek even if I have to hitch hike there!
So if you see an old brown Ford PU pulling a teardrop, honk or wave!

you can't put the guts out of the new one, into the old one, and be on the road?

  14. They are a different piston design, casting is even different. If it were identical to the old one I'd do that.

I would be making a temporary repair and getting the replacement part sent to Wendover. I would weld the broken ear on , carefully with short tacks and long cooling breaks and then making a right angle bracket to bolt on over that ear ( same mounting bolt) with an arm to run the length of the master cylinder, clamp it to the body of the cylinder with hose clamps . or a U shaped steel saddle using both of the mounting bolts to stabilise the repaired ear. As it is I am recovering from surgery and am not allowed to fly, so this year I will be using the live streaming.

a hard wind followed by thunder and rain came across the salt this afternoon. Standing water in the pits and at the bend in the road, racing COULD be delayed. Everyone is hopping the wind and incoming sun will dry things out for a Saturday start. My car made it thru tech with compliments from the inspectors.
Now to tune it a bit, and go fast.

    Latest SCTA update.

As of now, the Driver?s Meeting will still be Saturday at 9:00 a.m. We may post pone the start of racing a day or two, but better weather is expected from now on. At this time, we expect to still go racing.Gates open tomorrow @ 7:00 a.m. and Inspection & Registration opens at 9:00 a.m.

JUST A REMINDER, THE NEW SPEED LIMIT FOR THE ACCESS ROAD IS 45 MPH.

    See ya on the salt!

    First timer here, can't wait.
RV'ng it at the bend - this looks like it becomes habit forming.

The SCTA-BNI Facebook page now says "...officially delayed at least one day." But Driver's Meeting still on for 0900 Saturday.

Drove out to the pits today. Salt looked good until half way out there, then little puddles of standing water everywhere! Tons of great traditional hot rods at the Nugget Casino tonight. Way more people than ever camped in the parking lot across the road from the truck stop, that's where we are camped. Back against the west side of the parking lot red GMC with camper and red enclosed trailer. Look for my 31 Model A coupe.

Any updates on the salt this morning? The SCTA site seems to be down. Sitting waiting to board a plane right now.

We went to the drivers meeting this morning. Races postponed until Monday. Salt is drying out nicely and 3 courses have been groomed and set up but still too wet. Still rather soupy in the pit area. Car count seems rather low.

Thanks for first hand info. Heard the same from friends that are there. Even Monday will take a few test runs to see if salt will handle high speeds, and racers being able to hook up with enough traction.
