I have a Blueprint 350 sbc crate engine. Can anyone tell me how many inches from the water pump (swp) center to the passenger side inner fender panel is? I have a March Part# 20132 brackets that are great but sets the alternator quite a long ways toward the fender panel and I don't know if it will work in my 40. I am using the hurst type engine mounts at the stock ford position. My fenders are removed for installation purposes so I am just dealing with air. Thanks, Fourdy
You pretty much have to keep it inside the outer frame rail. Put a straight edge from the outside on the rail. Top of fender is 16 inches from top of frame rail. In other words the alt needs to be mounted on top of valve cover.
DETAILS...? Why do original posters expect that folks have crystal balls on their computer desks to be able to complete the original posters original question..? I have a car, will my new engine fit..? Mike
I used Bills brackets in my 40 pickup, mounted the air conditioning and the alternator above the valve covers. Worked great!
To those that tried to help me even though I didn't ask "does anyone have a sbc in a 40 Ford" thank you. To others, I will stand in the corner for the allotted time and will try not to post in the future until I get my brain and typing skills to the same level. I am thick skinned and enjoy a good laugh once in awhile. All said with true good humor. Fourdy
Fourdy, Here are a couple of solution. BTW, I had no problem understanding your question. I too have thick skin but at 73 it bruises easily.
