Technical cylinder head corrosion advice

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Darin S Bernhardt, Aug 2, 2019.

  1. Picked up a cheap set of good heads, one small area of corrosion on the main coolant passage. anyone know enough to tell me if this is anything to worry about? anyone reccomend any good overall intake gaskets to help with the seal if its not too big of a deal? Not a problem. Today's thick conformable intake gaskets will handle it.

Clean it real good, use a good quality paper/fiber gasket and if you're still worried smear some RTV around the trouble spot.

RTV around the WATER and ENDS ONLY.
Do not use RTV around the intake port openings.
    Gasoline eats RTV.

^^^^Always, and it helps hold things in place while you goop up the ends of the valley with the same and drop the intake.
