  2. Great story. Great adventure. You'll remember it forever. Only a relative few rodders actually make it to DD. You should be proud!
    See you down the road.

Yep, the #1 from Kamloops to Cache Creek turn left for a leisurely roll down the Fraser Canyon to Hope.
Second choice, Kamloops to Merrit on the old highway, turn down onto the connector towards Kelowna (that non ending highway to heaven or hell) take the turn off for Princeton. Visit Trolst, head out on the Princeton/Hope Highway #3 and have fun running through the gears. Stop off at Manning Park and toodle down to Hope and beyond.

Now that you have your route(s) planned hopefully we can meet up in 2022!

Great story, thanks for sharing. Hope you all come back to our city some time, lots of hot rods and other collector cars live in this area.

Thanks for sharing . I don’t have many BowTie parts remaining to give you . But I would Che k to see if valve springs are getting iron bound causing your issue . Studding the heads is a fix for pulling the studs , but iron bound springs will bend and break parts fast . Just a thought . At one time I had a mill cutter that dropped over the stud , it used the stud to center your cut . Once cut to proper depth pull the stud and mill off the remaining flashing you were done at home .

Thanks for the pics, glad you got your mechanical troubles sorted!
Golden's my hometown...we don't see many HAMB-worthy rods out here, so it's always fun when cool cars pass through.

  11. Thank for sharing. A great story. Your A is very similar in build to mine. I can relate to the road trip. Wife and I went to SoCal and back. Wouldn't trade that trip for anything.

Thanks for sharing your story/adventure. I've come home on the trailer before but still enjoyed the adventure of getting there.

Wow, how did I miss this thread. Thanks to @Tim for linking to it. First, major kudo's to the wife, mine would never do a trip like that in the hot rod (but that's why we got the 47 coupe). But I'm super impressed your wife made the trip with you, and encouraged you to walk the show when you had the engine problems. That worked out great, women's intuition can be wonderful. And congrats on a wonderful journey and adventure.

So, what's going on with the car today? Anything, or still on the back burner?

That is a great road trip story. I went through all of my Deuce days photos and must have missed the car entirely.

The car went by me, I saw the Saskatewan licence plate, and thought there goes Fry.

I just scrolled though all 1400 photos that I took and no Fry. I walked a lot of the back streets on Friday and Saturday too. Usually I don't get too excited about taking photos of all the cars at an even but this was a personal challenge this time. Even those that were so far from Hamb friendly they may belong on another planet this time.
