Yep BigMo original chassis was pretty ordinary but should be ok now and up to the task of a mild SBC. A few pics of my new air cleaners installed today. I still plan to make adapters to raise carbys approx 1/2 to 1 inch. Glen
Trial mounted exhaust today, I was pleasantly surprised with how the system fitted prior to the rear end. All I will need to fabricate is from mufflers back. Check out pics, Glen
I took car for 1st engineer inspection recently, all work done so far is ok so now its full steam ahead with aust street rod guidelines in hand to complete this ride. Stay tuned. Glen
Nearly finished exhaust, just need to mount hangers, also been working heaps lately and purchased some new wheels - plan to run whitewalls on new rims, then I will have two sets of wheels / tyres to play with. Glen

Ok guys, there from my runners, not my boots, Anyway a few pics of todays progress. I purchased some 3 mm alloy sheet to fabricate fuel tank, my bender unable to fold so I will have to weld together. Glen
Still working on fuel tank, practicing my alloy welding at present, but today I modified my taillights to accept 62 chev lenses. Also purchased my new whitewall tyres, now just need to have them fitted to rims. Glen

Baffles welded in today, made provision for sender unit, just need to clean up inside tank before closing for good. Glen
Tank finished, had to change outlet section for better clearance around diff center, just needs testing and sanding /polishing. Next step is to mount filters, pumps and lines - I will be using 2 x carter electric pumps, one for the nitrous kit I plan to install later on. There will be 2 supply and 2 return lines, stay tuned. Good work....how far back did you do the channel work on the body. I would like to see some details on that. I have all original Henry stock floor and sills in my Coupe. Dont really want to cut them up but thought i could do this, 4 inch channel, and not totally hack the original floor too bad
Sorry BigMo cannot help you, my coupe was already channeled when I brought it, whole floor has been cut out and replaced with box tube by original builder - a few pics. Glen
Interesting build up. I can't say I like the fake 409 valve covers. Reminds me of the fake blowers with carbs hidden inside and the fake quick change rear ends etc. Another one that comes to mind is Rocket valve covers on a SBC to try to make someone think you have a cool vintage engine. Or Y block valve covers on a SBF. Fake is fake and is never cool.
I scored the 409 covers cheap and thought why not - I enjoy making stuff, it gives me another look for the car. I plan to run different grilles / wheels / exhaust at times to change things up a bit. I think if fake is done tastefully it can be cool but thats just me. Anyway a few pics of recent progress, started playing around with pump and filter mounts / placement, also mounted brake booster and modified brake pedal, check out pics. Glen
Mounted proportional valve and started making brake lines, also had front brake lines ( braided ) made by local brake guy. A few pics. Glen
Mounted front disc brake lines and started fabricating rear brake lines, also had to remount exhaust as to close to chassis rails. Glen
Finished brake lines for now, brought a cool flare tool - perfect flares every time. I will do some firewall mods tomorrow - I plan to make recess a little deeper, fill LHD coloum hole and move RHD coloum hole a little, pics to follow. Glen
A few pics of todays progress, cut firewall, plan is to move steering coloum a little for more brake pedal clearance and install coloum break away mount required for engineer report, also needed more clearance for 409 rocker covers on left and right side. Removed all wiring and will install a new 12 circuit kit as well as new gauges, I have an awesome easy to follow auto wiring book as my guide. I will fabricate a new dash panel as well and probably mount battery under dash on some sort of adjustable mount - not sure of design yet. Glen

I like both formats but I feel without the surrounds the gauges are to far apart, Im unsure at present which way to go, I may paint surrounds the same colour as the dash. I will wait until I have the switches and then decide, I could always make another dash panel and have two - it would only take another day. Glen
A few pics of today's progress, mounted breakaway on coloum, pics show billet mount that came with breakaway but I decided to use the old conrod that was previously on car, also braced my mobile hoist as for the last 35 years it was hard to push around by myself (had a mind of its own), now its awesome.
