It's a fantastic event, and as a very important bonus, it is very good promotion of the hobby to the powers that be. Note the sign over the doorway of the staid stone building the cars are parked around:

  3. It seems like we have to get up a little earlier each time.

The quality level of the cars was way up over the last show. Very few gross billet pastel painted cars.

I hoofed around all day and tried to spot those that travelled great distances. Rhode Island got my attention. Did Bruce Meyer show up this year?

  10. Nice cars. Great to see so many well finished hot rods. This is not a show for rat rods and all that "patina" BS. Thanks for the cool pics.

  11. No Bruce this year. It was great meeting him and seeing 3 Window Larry's coupe in 2016. Very nice guy. At an event full of gold chainers that try to flaunt it, it was pleasant to see someone with real wealth that was still humble. Oh yea, and he drove that 3 window all the way with his wife.

Vermont was the furthest drive again this year. I know there were two guys that shipped their cars from New Zealand that also went to the LA roadster show.

I saw the Vermont and a Connetticut, NY, Ohio, NC and many closer to the west coast.

it seamed more like a " lot earlier ". I was shocked at how early people were parking. When my neighbor said he was leaving our building at 3:15 am I thought he was nuts.

I’m just too old for O’dark thirty parking. Ended up in a lot behind the Govt. building. Lots of really nice cars.

Thanks for the fantastic photos. Even done at 0 dark thirty they are incredible.
As none of the projects were to a point they could go we took the stealth car and it sat cozy in an underground parking garage for the weekend.
I wish I had climbed my butt out of bed early on Sunday to get those shots minus elbows and butts like I got later in the day.
The photos from the poker run are great with the water in the background.
    Thanks again for sharing.

  20. Thank you. Yes, it get's very difficult later in the day so I knew I would need to get rolling early on. Unfortunately, I was going so fast that some shots came out blurry and I was already on to the next one, so I missed some that I really liked. I also missed one entire row somehow. I took 249 photos, but you were a real machine even with the crowds. My camera is not great with rolling shots, but I was able to get a couple that turned out with the water as they were slowing down.

  22. They are actually early morning shots. Crazy hot rodders were lined up to get in at 2:30 am! I took this around 4:30 am.

Come on Daniel, I didn’t even crawl out of bed until 2:45 . I was already convinced the guys that talked me into it were nuts.
