That car stole the show as everyone’s favorite Vette even among a perfect Fuelie Split Window and a beautiful 53 and 55 plus several C2 and C3 427 and 454 cars.

Enloe's ride. I dig this car a little more each time I see it. You seldom see the mid-years in white, plus the chrome five spokes and redlines set it off nicely.

You're welcome. It's a different look for sure and not a bad switch from the
Cragar S/S. Hope you don't mind when I pick on your car for a photo edit.

Why would you run these when C1 has stock 'strut rods' to control axle wrap? Adjustability?

  14. Yes the guy said he has owned it since 1970.
I said "Crager SS wheels, slap bars and a Rheingold beer tap the N.C.R.S. must hate you." He laughed of course the A.C.A.A. judges were there when I said that.

Harley Earl's autobiography should've been titled "It's Great To Be Me".

Two friends bought this car for, I THINK, $2400. I sat in it about 1973 or '74. It was later part of the Domino's Pizza collection. I later saw it at Hershey with a price of $93,000, and sold written across that.

My reasoning is that Earl seemed to have anything, auto wise, that he
wanted from General Motors. I have no idea how many of the designs
were his but he had some very interesting cars. Duntov, on the other hand,
spent time fighting for what he did and didn't want.

All my life white has been one of my least favorite corvette colors........until recently. For some reason I’ve started to really like the almost simple race car like look of a clean white corvette... this one included.

    No Plan,

The 4 link bars are 19 inches from the center to center of the mounting bolts.

Seeing Jeff's black 60 with the blue hardtop brings a smile to my face. Here is a crappy cell phone picture I took after a run on Friday at the Glory Days. For those not familiar with Byron the return road is in the picture. I stopped and talked to Jeff twice as he was a haul from my pit stop and the heat was oppressive to say the least. I really love this 60 and wish I owned it. Jeff owns that brown 62 that was stack injected (he removed the stack injection and runs it now with a carburetor) and the 62 is so nice since he redid the car. The paint on the 60 is worn but nice but you do not have to worry about stress cracks etc-just race it and have fun. I just redid my avatar car and now that it is pretty nice again it is hard to go beat on it. I have another 62 project and can only wish I can get it done before they throw me in the ground. I was going to go with a candy style paint job but after seeing Jeff's 60 I am having second thoughts about going really all out with another candy paint job.

Bob Cook represented us well and won the big boy gasser class with his beautiful 57 Crazy Grandpa.

As to Mike's comments on the rear radius arms I am not sure how effective they were. I believe I have read that Zora was leaning towards seeing how they helped under braking-not sure too many people at GM really cared about drag racing. Many participants back then went to traction masters to help on traction at the drag strip. Some would remove the radius rods (used after 58) and go with traction masters. Of course slapper bars came along in the later 60s for the most part. I have run with all three combinations (rods alone, slapper bars with radius rods and traction masters with radius rods). I have found too much wheel hop without bars or traction masters although my car is not a giant killer so not sure how good my test results are. I have slapper bars on the red car and traction masters on the black car. I have another set of traction masters that I will put on my avatar car most likely.

Sadly I stayed only until Saturday morning at the Glory Days event (did not get a chance to say good bye to Jeff). We had a power outage and we had a generator for the house but with the extreme heat I left early as we have horses and without fans and automatic waterers I felt it was wise to head home, just in case Jeff 1.jpg . I had a great time on Friday though, in spite of the heat.

  25. Man....what a car....very cool...I’d feel like a bad ass Don Draper rolling up in that
