Hot Rods 40 ford inner splash panels , question

    splash panels rest on top of frame or attach to side of frame ? appreciate any feed back ........

    The inner fender panels? They rest at the side in the middle with rubber bumpers, are bolted at the far back corner to the side of the frame, and some rest over the top of the frame at the front with little L brackets that are usually missing. The repros don't have the L brackets, and not many have been seen in the wild. They are usually missing and some think they were discontinued during the production year.

    what alchemy said. The panels hook up as he said. When the front end metal is ahlined correctly the panels usually cross over the frame with about 1/4 inch clearance and bolt to the Y brace. There may be two small holes near the dr front part over the frame rail as well. Some repos have then some don't 39's have them both sides
    When I'm done with front sheet metal fit I make an L bracket and bolt to panel and frame on dr side
