It was an awesome show!! I tried to take some pics and did so when I parked in the early morning. Tried again later on but gave up as there were too many ppl. Good job on getting the pics. There were a lot of really nice cars.

  7. I may have missed it, but looks like no parking on front lawn of the Empress Hotel this year?

Checked out of the hotel and made it up to Butchart gardens for a walk around and got tired in the process. Made it to Sidney in time to get in line for the ferry to Anacortes and visit with a couple of guys with cars on the boat. Made it home at 3:30 this morning after taking a nap in a rest area for an hour or so.

Whew we had a big as thunder storme complete with hail stones come though and knock the power out right after I had these ready to post, This is down the sidewalk in front of the parliament building

A few of what most folks call survivors in this batch. Then some nifty well built hot rods. Plus one spiffy stone stock from all appearances roadster. Last batch for tonight, I should have the Deuces done tomorrow and start on the "others" My favorite may have been one of the last handful of non deuces I photographed.

LOL hope those gals don't figure out that I never noticed that they were in the photos when I took the pictures.

Don't often see a bobbed/rolled rear pan rear end on a full fendered coupe.......don't suppose you have any photos taken more from a rear 3/4 view, as this was something I was considering doing on my 3-window, but everyone I talked too said it would look odd with full fendered, and a lack of photos of anything to compare with stopped me taking the chance, although its not quite too late ;)

The owner is here on the HAMB. I did take three photos of it Sunday but I have taken so many photos of it at other events over the years that I might not have gotten the best angle this time.
IMG_6614.JPG IMG_5447 (2).JPG The car is channeled the width of the frame rails or sitting on a custom frame.
Top shot was on Sunday second one from Saturday.

I had to start hunting a bit now as it's getting down to the short rows and the deuces with owners that slept in and ended up among the "others" Fun hunt though. By this time some of the guys were bailing to make the ferry and get out of town before the traffic jamb. I think they did outnumber the billet trick of the week street rods though. It's near impossible to pick an absolute favorite out of the bunch as so many of them are so right on the money and each one has it's own tricks.

Now we get to the cool HAMB FRIENDLY not a 32 Ford rods and customs.
There were some nice ones in the bunch including several Hamb cars.
    These were on the street that wrapped around the old post office / customs building that they are redoing. Not a bad spot if you are stuck out in the c IMG_7097 (2).JPG IMG_5572.JPG IMG_5573.JPG IMG_5574.JPG IMG_5575.JPG IMG_5576 (2).JPG IMG_5578.JPG IMG_5579.JPG IMG_5583.JPG IMG_5584.JPG IMG_5587.JPG IMG_5588.JPG IMG_5591.JPG IMG_5592.JPG IMG_5593.JPG IMG_5594.JPG heap seats.

That 36 with the tangerine paint was popular for the stand in front of it and have your picture taken. IMG_5596.JPG IMG_5600.JPG IMG_5601.JPG IMG_5602.JPG IMG_5603.JPG IMG_5604.JPG IMG_5605.JPG IMG_5609.JPG IMG_5615.JPG IMG_5617.JPG IMG_5618.JPG

It managed to anchor the end of the row of non deuces and from there to the driveway to the ferry terminal it was all 32's

The lime green 40 was pretty sweet. I'd taken around 500 photos by this time and wasn't half done. Up a side street and we find a couple of Chevy pickups a chopped shoebox that had a serious cool factor and a couple of gasser types. Photo 6122 is a little bullet nose rag top.
Played a quick game of "do I recognize this guy with the camera" with another gent with a Camera. Maybe he was trying to read my Mr48Chev T shirt.
    Up to the little post war Ford coupe holding down the end spot. IMG_6122.JPG IMG_6123.JPG IMG_6124.JPG IMG_6125.JPG IMG_6128.JPG IMG_6131.JPG IMG_6132.JPG IMG_6133.JPG IMG_6137.JPG

Turn around and start down the hill past the chevy lowrider and a few others, stop at Chris's 34 but no Chris to be had. on down and take three photos of the nifty A coupe with the nailhead that was getting examined closely with maybe a nailhead lesson thrown in to boot.
