Does anybody have any experience with Ravon Streetrod’s 33/34 coupe bodies? They are based out of Montana. They seem to have more options than most shops. Example on their website (which looks older) they claim they can change the chop, add a cowl vent, roll down rear window along with other stuff. It sounds like their body might be the closest to a real looking hotrod. But sadly like many other places that sell FB bodies or hotrod parts for that matter their website is old, their pictures are poor at best and their gallery shows a munch of cars I don’t like so it is hard to get an idea. I haven’t tried calling them yet but my dad is currently in Montana so he said he’d stop by their shop and take a look. Thanks in advance.

I don't know if the owners now are the same as when I bought this one. I think it was not a bad body for how much work it took to finish.

I called and talked to them when I was '32 5 widow shopping. He seemed willing to do most things I wanted. The only thing that really bothered me was, like so many other chopped coupe builders, he used roadster hinges with none in the A pillar. He said he was willing to try to do coupe hinges but hadn't done them before. Kind of worried me and I hate being a guinea pig. Was good to answer questions but I ended up going to another builder.

Not big on glass bodies, but did a little research on manufactures and in my mind Wescott is right at the top for strength and quality and a big selection. Steel reinforced but spendy... Check out their Websight
I spent a lot of time redoing my all steel 29 Model A Body, Would I have been better off doing a FG Body, all chopped , doors hung & ready to go,I don,t know now ?? gene

blazedogs, they were one of the first I looked at because of their reputation but I didn’t see a coupe listed. Maybe I’ll call them an ask if they offer one but haven’t updated their website since the internet started being offered in “color.”

I know this might not set well with a lot of our members when I say this, Since I,m 75 yrs old and it took me 3 1/2 years to do this build from the ground up with a steel body, if I had to do it over( I would have considered a quality fiberglass body) Gene in Mn

A H.A.M.B. member who will remain nameless but has an awesome ongoing thread with his coupe dare I say advised me to consider a fiberglass body.

I got a hold of Steve at Raven. Super nice guy on the phone, answered a lot my questions. Going to have my dad stop by his shop today and check out the coupe body.

Have you looked at a Davvikki? Reviews are not that great online, but Dave is a nice guy and the 33 I have was well built. (don't pay attention to that grille) GArage.jpg

Yeah, since the website didn’t produce much it was hard to avoid the reviews. Especially since I had to scroll past a couple just to get to the so so website.

Have been an enthusiast of Hot Rods all my life. I have several in all mediums of manufacture. Steel, wood & glass. Glass in my experience has been the one of the most user friendly for a low maintenance standpoint. My glass body on my 34 Roadster was made by Wescott’s back in 1985-6.. it’s body #4.
It’s been painted and refreshed twice in 25+ Yrs and it never or rarely sees a garage. 1D30518F-132E-421C-8172-B8B73A86A639.jpeg
(Nephew Keith making it look even better ;).)
Unfortunately the only Coupe body that Wescott’s make is a 32, you can get any option you’d like including windows, but it’s pricey these days.
I wish that I could refer you to a glass body mfg’r that advertised in SRM in the 80’s. It was Paul’s Fiberglass in Valmeyer,IL. (Sight of a great flood in 1993).
Below is one of their bodies, it has more steel that any other body that I’ve ever seen and even though the person who originally ordered it deleted items that I’d rather have had-(Hi-Tech 80’s), 305D14E8-F0FA-49D8-90FB-FBCFA278BFFD.jpeg

This body had original style latches, window regulators and later a crank out windshield. It didn’t have hinges or a cowl vent, but I had one ready to install. This is one I let get away......(Wish I knew where that one was/is today?)
The reason for so many pictures is I wanted to convey that a glass bodied car makes a pretty darn fun driver...
Never used Raven or later Ravon, but did look them over when they were attending events with their wares. The bodies looked decent.
They’re a couple of others that I’ve seen, one at Squeak Bell’s Bakersfield Shop a few years back and it was pretty cool body from OZ. I bought a ‘32 Vicky body from them and my only complaint is that they put zero inforcement under the top surface. As received it drooped and drummed. Going to have to do considerable work to make it work
By way I bought from them as it was the only I could find that was not chopped.
