Event Coverage My Deuce Days NW 2019 pictures

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Chris, Jul 23, 2019.

  1. i went up to Victoria Canada this past weekend with about 40 other cars from the Spokane WA area. I had never been to the event, never to Victoria in general. It’s a beautiful city with a great atmosphere for an outdoor show. I took my 34 with the wife, first time for a kidless weekend. We left Spokane at 7:00 am on Thursday, drove across the North Cascade highway (another first for me). Spent the night in Anacortes and we all got a ferry ride the next morning (ferry ride another first for me). The ferry ride was awesome, almost all hotrods and likeminded people aboard. The weekend was great, I saw a lot of friends who I never get to see and saw some neat cars too. I won’t bore you with the details, I’ll let the pics do the talking. If they do another one (they always claim they won’t do another), I highly recommend it.

  8. Wow, great shots of some great cars and beautiful scenery. Thanks, Chris.

  9. Thank you for posting these great shots; like many others I didn't get to see all of them in person. This was my first event and I can't tell you how honoured I am to see that you have included not one, but two photos of my pickup! Thank you very much!!!

WOW, great pictures. Every car is awesome. This black '32 3w with all the white striping and trim is one of my favorite cars ever.

  15. Great job of capturing the atomsphere of the event. I especially like the shot of your 34 on the docks with the ship in the background...that one's definitely a keeper. Thanks for taking time to post.

Cool pics Chris. The shots on the ferry are ridiculously righteous.

  21. I was wearing my Street Tin, Spokane, Washington hat over the weekend. It was given to me at a picnic hosted by the club when I was on my way to NWDD in 2013. Great time!

Chris, looks like one hell of a good time. Thanks for sharing the pics. All the cars are nice but the chopped white 33/34 3wdo really does it for me!

You were well represented by Tom's car along with the other Sunnyside folks who had a hand in it. The car is spectacular and got a lot of attention while I was taking photographs of it.
For those of you that don't know, Tom's coupe was pretty well totaled on the way back from Deuce days 3 years ago and The crew at Rocket's hot rod garage and the paint crew at another Sunnyside shop turned it into what it is today.

The even is almost 4 separate events in one place on one weekend as each day was like a different show. A lot of later models powerparking in front of the host hotel Thursday, Friday and saturday and probably gone off the Island on the first ferry on Sunday. IMG_5871.JPG IMG_5870.JPG IMG_5873.JPG That side shot was the 300th out of 1200 and something shots I took on Sunday. I'm still a week out on getting the thread I started done.

That roadster of Chris's looks just that much better every time you see it. Progress is on the slow side but it gets obvious attention on a regular basis.
It rated a fairly decent "not a deuce" spot on Sunday.
I didn't make it down to the show until after breakfast but rumor has it that some of those guys were lining up when the rest of us were going to bed. IMG_6143.JPG

    Cool stuff,thanks for sharing.

  28. "slow side" hahaha yeah I really haven't do anything but drive it the past 4-5 years. I am not a car show guy at all, I just don't really care about parking and that stuff. I parked my car and my wife and I toured around Victoria until the early afternoon. Then went back to the car and talked to a few people. It was a fun, laid back weekend.

There was a little Blue Deuce roadster next to my VW in the parking garage that never moved until Sunday. They stayed in the same hotel that we did and did like you guys did. Go, look and have fun and not worry about the car.
I know you haven't done big things to the roadster since you first got it on the road but it always looks like you have done a few things to it since I saw it last when I see it.
