I did the same thing with the aluminum radiator in my A pickup, black is much better than shiny aluminum.

That’s some nice aluminum work. I have a question on the radiator.. since you moved the upper neck above the filler are you going to put a fill cap in the upper hose so you don’t get an air pocket?

I figured it was probably something you had already thought of but I asked anyways. This build is so cool, I always look forward to the updates. Keep up the good work.

So awhile back i was tinkering around on a light on the headrest part of the car. The head rest was made from a 46 chevy p.u. Headlight that I cut down. I had an idea to take the parking light section a chunk out of it and turn it around so it faces the back of the car. I have a l.e.d light/ brake that i can hide inside so it gets the light a bit higher so folks can see it.
Whats you guys thoughts on looks? To me it sort of takes away the drop of the headrest but it also has a funky art deco look. image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

What if you were to mold just the lens part into the rear tip of the headrest?

The difference is not the year, but which plant stamped the fenders. As dies were repaired, they often came out a bit different. As long as they fit the body, and since no one could see both sides at once, and Ford was a cheap car, and people were desperate for a new car at the time, they were painted and drove out the door. I had a 48 here one time, with all original parts that had the rear wheel openings nearly 2" different.

I like it with the tail light. Looks good and serves a purpose.

  17. I like the tail light, also. After seeing it with the tail light it looks a little bare without it. I love this build.

I definitely like it "with". And a sneaky CHMSL is a really bright idea...pun intended!

How about combining one of the marker lights you tried earlier with the fender light you have.

I think it looks cleaner without, but I love the cleverness of adding the light there.

I like the look with out also, but I'm leaning towards putting it on more on the safety side.

Put a bright s.o.b. of an led in the lower light and you'll be seen after dark just as well as any motorcycle. Haha, I doubt you'll have any problems getting noticed during the daylight hours.

  27. I love this car! Every time I see it, it reminds me of a hopped up bumper car! So unique and creative.

Oh yes! And it has a small leather flap inside, under the stitch that keeps the grease from the baseball stitch.
