I'm not sure why you find that "interesting". What brand of pick-up truck should they have been using in your opinion? To my knowledge, SWC's tow vehicles have always been Ford products. In fact, in later life, Lenny Woods owned one of the largest Ford dealerships in the nation, Chino Hills Ford (I purchased several vehicles from him). In the beginning, their early Willys gassers were not even trailered to and from the track, they were flat-towed with a tow bar, behind a Ford station wagon.
Wow pissed your Wheaties? It is interesting TO ME because their race vehicles were NOT fords and SOME teams matched their pit vehicles with whatever brand race parts or car they used to race with. I didn't say unusual or weird I said INTERESTING which means nothing derogatory.
